I don't know why, but every time I hear this song, i think it's about Megan Fox lol.

It's funny how this is way, way more relevant today than it was when it was written Actually it's not funny, it's terrifying

Dirty Looks (seductive voice) I have been playing King Crimson at work and this song came up. So here I go again, on my own, down another rabbit hole of music.

Imagine being a fan of 'serious' rock music and not realizing that this 'comedy' band has created so many underheard, melodic, catchy, sometimes misunderstood, and, arguably, more 'meaningful' than they seem, tunes.

It''s about the eternal struggle of being a poor slug with a minimum-wage job and small-town shItheads with nothing better to do but hanging out in a parking lot after hours. Yet also how each role blends into the other, depending on the time of day.

Electric Six is one of my all-time favorite bands, I even referenced them (this song, precisely) in my book, "Salvation on Peril Island" Both Clarice and Carlos turned nervously left and right, trying to spot and avoid any nosy staff, but the place felt almost deserted. Even the front desk stood unmanned. The only trace of life they noticed was in the spacious ballroom, decorated with a curious “Dance-a-thon 2005” banner, where a handful of people roughly their age danced furiously to pop-rock music among the darkness and half-deflated balloons. ... Clarice grabbed his jacket and watch from the floor, flew through the door, locked it behind her with the key, which had been stuck in the lock for over thirty years now, and ran, ran as fast as her legs carried her. She remembered to button up her flap and pull her pants all the way up only after receiving a curious glance at the front door from a guy who apparently gave up on or lost the “Dance-a-thon 2005.”
