This version is way better than Disney’s live action remake from 2017

I just realized something. Shouldn't there be Pilgrims in Neverland if there's Indians? You can have natives without settlers, of course, but most kids who played that had a group who were Pilgrims, as well, so as to fit with the history. Instead, the Lost Boys act as the Pilgrims, but there really should be "real" Pilgrims on the island due to the nature.

It’s been 30 years since I last read this book. I can remember my favourite character in the book was the little boy who picked up the hourglass when the adult freaked out. It was surprisingly poignant.

0:38 i’ll just leave this here. “At this the spirit raised a frightful cry, and shook its chain with such a dismal and appalling noise, that Scrooge held on tight to his chair, to save himself from falling in a swoon. But how much greater was his horror, when the phantom taking off the bandage round its head, as if it were too warm to wear indoors, its lower jaw dropped down upon its breast!”

I've read the book and own it . I wouldn't call it a children's novel. I'd say young adult. Plus it's 445 pages long.

Yeah, I'm 14 years late, but even after all these years this is still the spirit of NaNoWriMo. I've described so many trees over the years... and the sex scene is a real thing (I deleted it later, though). I love to come back to your song every April, July and November.

26:27, Since there was nothing dark at all about the Wicked Witch of the East cursing Nick Chopper’s axe to cut off his limbs one by one resulting in him having to replace his lost limbs with tin prosthetics and becoming the Tin Woodsman with the Tinsmith having forgotten to give him a heart resulting in him thinking that he couldn’t love his betrothed and going to the Wizard. It’s not clear the movie wins even by your own standard.

26:03, L. Frank Baum explicitly said that his goal was to capture the wonder of fairy tales without the nightmares.
@strawberrysoulforever833626 күн бұрын
Reaching his objective, which he undoubtedly did, doesn't necessarily make the story better. Baum's intention is not really the focus of the review, but what objectively makes the experience more fulfilling. And, especially from an adult's standpoint, the movie is more fulfilling, while Baum's intentions make the book appear to be lacking. After all, the majority of readers won't know that was what he was trying to do.

4:46, no. The point is the be the kind of person with whom they can’t reason. Scarecrow thought that he could negotiate with Oz because a giant head would value brains so Oz gave him an illusion more associated with heart. Likewise, he gave the Tin Woodsman something (metaphorically) heartless and the Lion something that he couldn’t attack.

Totally agree. Aside from so many of the poorly adapted elements, the filmmakers seem to have missed the point of El Gallo's character. As you've pointed out, El Gallo was the catalyst who set this entire chain-of-events in motion for the purpose of teaching the young lovers a harsh but necessary lesson, one that ultimately helped them grow and mature. He even confides to the audience that he hurt himself in the process of making Matt and Louise suffer. But no. In this film, he merely shows up to perpetuate some nefarious mischief, leaves a jilted admirer high and dry, then cuts his losses and leaves, without any indication of the greater method to his ostensible madness. He simply comes across like a opportunistic sociopath who gets kicks out of the misery of others. This version of El Gallo certainly never earned the right to sing "Try To Remember" as a somber tribute to the protagonists' journey, as there's no indication that he ever cared, to begin with. I think you're also right about the secret to doing proper film interpretation of this musical, in that they need to break the fourth wall.

Can you do a book first movie of Rambo first blood?

IMO the final chapter of the book I hated more than the epilogue. First off in the book the final confrontation between Harry and Voldemort was very anti-climatic, the fact they talked for nearly 7 pages was absurd. I was expecting the duel of the series and we got anything but. Second the Elder Wand is confusing. With all the disarmings and defeats that have occurred throughout the series, by the Elder Wand logic causes a lot of loop holes. For one, wouldn't that mean anyone who disarmed someone would own any other wand that wand ever defeated? Two, Harry doesn't even defeat the elder wand from Draco he just disarms Dracos other Wand so why does this earn him the Elder Wand? Thus wouldn't he disarm any other Wand Draco disarmed? And three and this is the biggest issue with the Elder Wand, Harry just puts the Wand back in Dumbledore's tomb However this is stupid of him since we saw how easy it was for someone to win the Wand. Especially with Harry being an Auror, He is susceptible to being disarmed and thus someone else winning the wand.
