I have a 1965 Johnson 9.5 motor. It ran good last year. Went to pull it over and it seized on me and I couldn’t get the cord to come out. I put it away for the year. Brought it out and my dad pulled it over right away (pull cord came out). We worked on the motor a bit and then it did it again and now the pull cord won’t come out and the fly wheel won’t turn….. any ideas?

Hey Bill congrads your getting close to 3,000 subs, well done.Glad thermo issue is resolved.Next if this was mine grommets would be replaced motor is 25 years old and its a no brainer from my experience. I just seen you did have the powerhead off & pulled cylinder head & side covers. Maybe just get a complete new OMC waterpump kit and install it. That motor being longshaft calls for the long rubber grommet at the waterpump outlet preferbly.I have one of these motors there great when all is right.Flush attachments in my opinion are for flushing not accurate for judging cooling pressure and block temp tests, submerge it. That large knob on tiller end is for adjusting idle at closed position C/W to raise or C/C to lower or vise versa not sure..Thanks for shoutout and was that salt water in the bay test???? Best video thanks so much. However, I'm the %1who still needs to clarify something. So I have a VW Bus Camper. There's a known problem with them where they suddenly won't start. Due to the fact that a wire from the ignition has to travel 15 feet to start the vehicle. That wire as it ages gets problematic. SO, they sell something called a hard start relay. When hooked up to the starter and battery and cylinoid you now eliminate the problem. However, some guys still add a push button start in the engine bay like you are showing. That said, I bought a button. Hooked up 2 wires to it. NOW, do I hook one wire to the cylinoid power and one to the main battery power of the starter OR can I just hook one wire to the battery and one to the cylinoid?. I'm overcomplicating it but can you just clarify the placement of the 2 wires of the button. ( 1 wire to the cylinoid power and one to the battery power on the starter?. ) Thanks.

@@BlackoutBilll21 where your cut bolt heads are dont hit them with a drift to much if they don't move as you will expand them outwardly, ive done a few omc outboards the bolts are stainless even though not high grade so drilling them needs a cobolt bit, but try this heat each one without getting to hot and spray to cool with penetration fluid, i actually used to use eucalyptus oil as well and keep repeating a few times, give the casting a little tap but not to hard in between, but next time try welding a nut to the crappy bolt, if it turns and then it's seized stop, heat it cool with your wd40 or whatever then screw back in and keep repeating, this has worked everytime for me 👍
