Would always try to book the German-designed 500 series for my frequent business trips between Tokyo and Osaka, and occasional rides to Hiroshima and Fukuoka, where it could achieve its 300 km/ hr speed. It was definitely the smoothest ride of all the models, but the high price and even higher maintenance costs put an end to it. The Hello Kitty and Evangelion models were just amazing to look at.

It’s like the goodbye to the class 86/87 back in the early 2000s, they were both rail express electrics from the 1960s 0-Series Shinkansen 1964-2008 Class 86 1965-2005 Class 87 1973-2005
