Brilliant video thank you. We are about to have solar PV panels installed, 31 Q Cell 405-watt panels (8 facing east and 23 facing west) mated to Enphase 31 IQ8A Inverters then an IQ Combiner 4C. Installer claims it will generate over 13 kWh in my location or about 14 kWh/year while our annual consumption is 11,580 kWh on average. We will add batteries next year and considering getting 2 Tesla Power Wall 3s or 4 Enphase 5Ps. Installer says my system will include a Cell Modem with 5 years of free cell service, then I pay for that service. I guess the advantage is I can still access all my data from the Enphase Cloud server on my phone even during a power outage if I don't have batteries. I think that's what he's inferring? Cheers from southern Illinois.

Hi, at what point would you not have just a standard 3 phase cut out but go to having an MCCB panel fed from a big cut out?
@maydayelectricalsolutionsl7601
@maydayelectricalsolutionsl7601 Жыл бұрын
So the client needed a 250a supply, allot of older cut outs only go to 100a, the mcb panel was required to feed larger equipment as standard boards usually only go up to 60a

Hey. Great video. It's especially interesting to me as I live in a ground floor flat and I'm currently trying to get permission from the free holder to install an EV charger on the outside wall of my flat. However, even if I can get permission the cable run from the consumer unit to the outside wall is a bit of a pain. It would need running through an airing cupboard then through the bathroom behind the toilet and behind the bath then through the wall into the kitchen underneath the kitchen cabinets just to reach the outside wall. Do you think that cable run is safe and do you think a high tough cable would be ok or would armoured be better?

I would use 6mm twin and earth internally or hi tuff, then swa outside if it’s hurried or hi tuff if not buried
@leelazer
@leelazer 2 жыл бұрын
@@maydayelectricalsolutionsl7601 Thanks. I could actually go through the wall directly into the back of the charger. I would need load balancing though. Only a 60a main fuse so I was thinking of the EV ultra cable.

When drilling the holes in the trunking for your bend, place a block of wood inside the trunking to prevent unwanted bending of the trunking. It also prevents the drill slipping and scratching your brand new trunking. 👍

why did you install that main switch, the main switch in the mccb board can be used as main switch for installation , we do many a large commerical and just the mccb main switch is sufficent and saves the cost of the switchfuse on the job , and on our recent upgrade of 250 A ukpn only want 95mm just my opinion , still a good video

Hello Paul good question, UKPN spec sheet for us stated 150mm tails, 150mm lugs would not fit the mccb and also bending the 150s I wanted to avoid and UKPN don’t allow tri rated cabling in the head. But good point I just also prefer being able to isolate our installation without touching the head
