Alright but try to defend the message of The Little Mermaid and The Emperor's New Groove. The Little Mermaid's message at face value seemed to be like "don't be stupid and sell your soul to the devil" for me. The original story is far superior and I wish Disney leaned more into that direction. The Emperor's New Groove has the biggest asshole of a character as protagonist. And the side characters including the villain are more likeable. He went from total asshole to a good person in like 2 minutes. A child being very sensitive for this type of characters can be done with the movie before it is over. The Emperor is unlikeable for like 50 minutes! Out of what, 107 of the movie!? Believe me, I know. I can't stand these types of characters. How am I supposed to learn something in a movie where the Protaganist is basically King Joffrey? I went from hating the movie, to being convinced to watch the whole movie, to hating the movie and its fanbase so much I destroyed physical media. I would normally never do that. Even with my second most hated media. This movie causes violence to easily triggered people and should be lost media. Seriously, in no world should the movie have been able to survive. What I liked about chicken little ARE all of the references, the messages it conveys and that it shows that (yes indeed) fathers could be bad parents. I have a father I love but a terrible father figure, so I relate to that. I do admit that the message of don't believe anything someone says is conveyed poorly. However, it also shows that when someone can prove they were right all along, it's important to share it with people. And that people shouldn't be easily distracted while you're trying to present live evidence. At least, that's what I've got out of it. And lastly, somehow I relate more to the characters in chicken little (as a fellow childhood loser) than to Kuzco or Ariel. In The Emperor's New Groove I relate to Yzma the most. Yes, a villain. In The Little Mermaid, I relate to Triton and I hated how they made him scary before seeing how happy Ariel is with a human. Triton is the true main character and Yzma was right for wanting to kill off the emperor. Oh, by the way, where's the New Groove part? Couldn't find it. That's how much I think other movies are overpraised and Chicken Little is the most underrated Disney movie of all time. Weird how that turned out.

Funny thing is, I didn’t knew for the longest time that _Trip to the Moon_ was remade and I actually watched the remake first when I was a child. So when I watched the Original much, much later, I was confused that the Capsule *didn‘t* fly into the moon‘s mouth and assumed a Mandela-effect.

Remakes have always and will always exist. It's a tried and true way to immortalize a good story while also applying the story to different elements of different cultures for the time period and location that it's being retold in or even just to give a different perspective within the same time and culture of the "original". The oldest piece of writing, The Epic of Gilgamesh, is literally a retelling of story that had been retold for 1000 years before it was written. The only reason Disney's animated movie Cinderella exists is because an ancient Chinese story was retold for thousands of years all across the world. Snow White is a retelling. Sleeping Beuty is a retelling. People complaining about remakes are just saying they don't like change but in way too many words.

I think Iwatched the remake of _Trip to the Moon_ before the Original and, not knowing the History, I was confused why the Rocket flew into the Moons' eye instead of in its mouth. For a while I chalked this up to the Mandela-effect before I read up on what actually happened.

15:23 while i love the series, im not surprised they were able to transcribe the video game to movie formula because of the genre. i find it easier to convert a visual novel to a movie rather than an action or platformer since visual novels tend to be a lot more story driven however, this isnt to suggest Level-5 relied on this to make a good, video-based form of media. ive heard good things of their megaton musashi TV series

You could reasonably make the argument that either Muybridge's "Horse in Motion" or Le Prince's "Roundhay Garden" was the first motion picture ever made. Others prefer to begin their histories of the motion picture with the Edison/Dickson invention of the kinetoscope. The very first kinetoscope was "Monkeyshines No. 1," which was immediately followed by a remake, "Monkeyshines No. 2." I daresay in almost every respect the remake was superior to the original, although the original rather brilliantly if completely accidentally conjured up a ghost-like image, which if you think about it for a second is kind of a perfect metaphor for what the cinema does. "Monkeyshines No. 3" is apparently the cinema's first lost film - if it indeed ever existed. ("Monkeyshines" means fooling around, by the way.) The Lumiere Brothers first cinematograph was "Workers Leaving the Factory," which they remade a number of times. One of the sequels was mistaken for the original for most of the cinema's history. Factory Gate films became something of an established genre in the early cinema and the ones made was James Kenyon and Sagar Mitchell (later dubbed "The Electric Edwardians" after they were rediscovered) are almost infinitely more beautiful and moving than the similar ones made by the Lumieres 5-to-10 years previously. "Alfred Butterworth and Sons, Glebe Mills, Hollinworth" (1901) is particularly joyous and poignant. Great stuff!

Passengers (2016) got me, they with held so much from the trailer that the film was arguably a different genre. It's one of my favourite films and a large part of that is because the trailer didn't spoil anything or give away key plot elements and set pieces. I won't ruin it, but it is not "2 people wake up on a spaceship early", it's SOOOOO much more than that - and that kind of doesn't even happen either

Not at all. I do enjoy film trailers and consider them a skilled art form, to condense aspects of a feature film into a cohesive two-minute trailer. It’s very impressive. There are just a lot of aspects I feel can be improved about trailers, since a lot of them have been misleading or just straight-up lying about the movie. I understand your point though and appreciate the comment.
