In the era of sweep picking, the trick was to avoid bar chord fingering to make it clean....BUT, Glenn Tipton actual embraced and perfected his bar chord sweeping (i.e The Sentinel, Locked In, Pain Killer). Thats what makes his sweeps different from the crowd at the time.

It's not uncomfortable but less comfortable. Upper fret access is harder.

I got one a couple months ago, and it's not as accessable as some guitars, but it never bothers me and i quickly forget about it, and im only 5'7", so i don't exactly have huge hands. The guitar is flawless (I'm genuinely impressed by the build quality for the price), but the stock p'ups are a bit glassy; probably going to swap them out for Super Distortions or something a bit warmer. That's obviously subjective, though

If you like sweep picking, the arpeggio sequence at the end of "This Godless Endeavor" by Nevermore (Jeff Loomis) is wonderful. It starts with repeating diminished 7's building to a big crescendo in the song, then alternates between major and minor ones. The key is the stretching of those last notes. The diminished shape isn't that bad once you get the hang of it, and the major/ minor ones are shapes you're familiar with, but with a little added stretch note at the end of each shape.

When I was a kid I dreamed of having a Strat like my heroes Hendrix, Blackmore, Eddie... so I bought an USA Strat in 1996. I liked it but didn't love it. Then, Charvel (Fender) started making the SoCal and San Dimas modeled after their 1980's Super Strat and when I played them I realized a guitar's feel is the neck and the Charvel Promod neck is the best neck I've ever played. Hands down there is no Strat that plays as good as a Charvel Promod. You can change pickups and the bridge but you can't change the feel of the neck! BTW- Once you learn how the Floyd Rose works and how to set it up you won't go out of tune and you will love it. Don't tell me the Fender tremolo is better. I had one and it sucked!

This riff is actually related to what I personally consider Kirk's cringiest moment that I don't think people are aware of. It was in a Guitar World interview he did. They were talking about Enter Sandman and how amazingly popular that riff is. James talked about writing the lyrics for it and then Kirk popped in and was like (paraphrased) "This is my moment. The time has finally come for me to reveal the secret behind Metallica's most iconic riff. Brace yourselves for this shocking truth that I've been carrying the burden of knowing for decades. Okay, deep breath, hold onto something... I stole that riff from a Heart song. Phew, what a relief, finally revealing that." The response from the interviewer? "Okay, cool. Anyways..."
