Since the spring I have been trying out Michael Harding's watercolours. And for an orange biased yellow I chose PY83 Indian Yellow. It's much like PY150 in that it's an excellent mixer and has a lovely golden glow. Nice to see you again and thank you for the video 👍

I found a few Ginkgo leaves at a shopping center. I found them so beautiful, that I wanted to do a watercolor paint of them, but following your attention to details, makes it seem soooooo easy. I will be watching your other videos. I do have a question. Could you write a source for the items you use?
@AtelierSandrineMaugy24 күн бұрын
Ginkgo leaves are gorgeous :) For drawing materials, I'm not too picky, I use whatever I have on hand. For watercolour paper, I prefer Farbiano, the heavier the better. For paints, I use Daniel Smith Watercolors.

I'm not really a watercolour painter but I do paint with acrylic inks and paints on watercolour paper. Sometimes I tape the paper down, sometimes I don't. When the paper does start to curl up I let it dry and then put heavy books on it and it's always been fine. I'm going to try your method next time and try super wet on wet painting. Thanks for the great video!

I love that you call them conkers, which is a very British term, pretty much unknown, for example, in the USA.
@AtelierSandrineMaugy3 ай бұрын
What are they called in the USA?
@Northumbergull3 ай бұрын
@AtelierSandrineMaugy , hi. If Americans know the word conkers at all, it might just register as the peculiarly British game of conkers. Most Americans would call what you painted a horse chestnut, after the type of tree or, in a few states, "buckeyes." en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conkers

They're called Horse Chestnuts here too... as well as conkers. I had never heard Buckeyes, it's funny 😋

Thank you! This was very helpful-I will certainly try out this palette for my next autumn leaf painting. What surprised me was the Turquoise as it is not alltogether transparent ( but so are many ceruleans s too, a bit ” milky”) Inloke it ehen palettes have a surprise😃👩🎨👍!
@AtelierSandrineMaugy3 ай бұрын
Hello, nice to see you!! Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Genuine is semi-transparent, I can cope with semi-transparent :)). And I indeed use it as a replacement for Cerulean, a toxic coulor that is opaque. I do love the sort of cloudy quality to it. Very useful for some subjects. 💜💚

Could you give me the name of a couple of books thank you again❤

@AtelierSandrineMaugy6 ай бұрын
You should try it, it is very pleasant and easier than watercolours when used in the way I did in the second painting :)
@williambrady11926 ай бұрын
Is it used on watercolor paper or mixed media?
@AtelierSandrineMaugy6 ай бұрын
The paper in this sketchbook is watercolour paper, 300 gsm, and it worked well. Your choice of paper will depend on which technique you go for: more water requires heavier paper. For the first painting I would normally go for my usual 640 gsm, as I really drenched it.
