Hate to "break" it to you, but most of this is fake. Actors do it to enhance the skit and appear more relatable . Same reason why nearly every TV sit-com has a laugh track. These guys are pros. Some mundane joke isn't going to throw them off course. It would be like Federer swinging and completely missing the ball on a service.
