Late to the party but the PVP design isn't terrible (fields of glory is really bad though), the issue has to do with horrible net code and hit reg in the game. Yes, it also sucks in PVE content also which is why all the fights are degined as dances and not reactionary rng, because they realized early on that the spaghetti code carried over from 1.0 could not be solved so everything in the game is balanced around the horrible server ticks and snapshotting. I raided since ARR and this is an unpopular opinion but the game just doesn't really do anything well other than the story which Dawtrail ruined. Players are dropping like flies because there is no midcore content to speak of and there are just many better games out there right.

No, nerfing recuperate would not fix anything besides pushing jobs that can self heal besides recuperate vs ones that can not. Might as well delete mch completely at that point from pvp

Stumbled upon this as somebody who's doing all achievements and only has PvP left. The reason it's the only thing I have left is because it is so unbelievably bad that it's impressive that it made it past testing... oh wait this game doesn't have testing. By far the worst part of the game, nothing else even comes remotely close. If 3k Frontline wins were a requirement to get released from jail, crime would end.

The netcode is extremely bad. Its only real benefit is slidecasting and cheesing PvE content that your not normally meant to.

Totally agree on the CC needs 5min Hard Stop, Its freaking annoying having work so hard pushing the crystal to 85% but due overtime and long respawn time it takes longer for the winning team to regroup as the distance the need to run is far hence allowing the losing team to steamroll the winning team and just need to push 85.1% to win. Which is make Pushing that 85% feels like a lost effort, This is why i HATE ffxiv CC to the core.

It's not bad imo, but MAN square seems driven to actively keep you OUT of it. The rewards are weighted so heavily for casual play. Do your daily, maybe grind cc if you took a break, then don't touch it again for 4 months. No gil, basically no tomestones, and while you get some nice titles for it, it takes years to get through that grind for a relatively small amount of AP.

PvP in FFXIV is bad overall. The Gameplay for PvP is way to slow. Targeting enemy's via TAB especially in Frontliens takes forever. 1 on 1 duels are also taking forever, because they removed PvE bursts out of PvP. In the past i've sneaked up to my enemys with my Ninja and then bursted them down. Since they removed that PvP feels even slower and you have a hard time to take down a Healer alone. CC are nice but due to the long GCD and the Server Ticks, stuns for 2 or 3 seconds are nothing. There are also a lot of Script/Plugin Users in PvP. Auto CC, Auto Heal, Auto Shield, Auto LB when a kill ia guaranteed etc. You can tell when you see a player stunning or transforming you asap out of the blue when you're about to use a LB. This also makes PvP even more unattractive for competetive Players.

Thanks for the video! I'm leveling a tank now, still level 25 haha but I'm already struggling a bit. Its' nice to tank in this game, but the thing is I need to get used to the mitigations, because I comes from games where mitigations where more "spammable", here they are few seconds and the recast is like minutes. It's not necessarely a bad thing, on the contrary I think it could be more intriguing like this, because you can think of a strategy while you are leveling and it's not just spam some buttons, I just need to get use to it.

CC is trash. Frontlines is trash too. Loaded with cheaters and terrible design decisions. The lesson here is, if you want to do PvP, play other games.

FFXIV massive delay makes pvp almost unplayable, u can press guard and still die 1-2 sec after because the ability will go through O_O same with healing and cc removal. Do it for lvl 25 series reward and leave till next season rewards arrive.

I just did a sweep of all my purchases across 10 years...I'm easily at $10,620 lmao I hate myself. the sub alone was $2200 over 10 years because I pay 25/mo cuz i have retainers xD that's for buying the game on ps4, all collector's edition on PC - 2 of which are physical collector's editions, figurine of Ultima/emote, the pizza emote during the event as well as the mount from the butterfingers event, various random purchases of my fantasia addiction, server transfers, alt name changes because I was too lazy to delete it and start over, character boosts, all mounts, all emotes, subs and random figurines from the online store like ardbert/g'raha, books, cookbook, etc etc. Do I regret it? No. Because I am having fun and honestly I spent way more playing gw2 in 10 years and their garbage fomo tactics before finally ditching that game.

My definition of Whaling = Unnecessary expenditure on things that do either give you power, or a lot of fashion, that should be put in the game by non IRL currency. (all in game) In my personal opinion, You are a borderline Dolphin, and even then, I'm exaggerating. For me, non-deluxe versions of a game and subscriptions do not count towards being a Whale, since that is a necessary expense in order to play the game. I also do not count events like the convention, unless it's a super deluxe pass. This can be argued towards being an unnecessary expenditure, I do not count it since it is a traveling expense, and traveling is its own reward by itself, and it is a way to connect socially with friends and community members. This would be the equivalent of consider going to the theater, or a concert or to a Bar as "Whaling". What I do count: -MOGstation items -Deluxe edition versions of a game / Expansion -Collaboration merch (there is an argument to not count this) For the record, I only played the game for around maybe less than 6 months, years ago and only "unnecessary expenditure" I made was the Fenrir.
