Weather just changed in Chicago suburbs from high 80’s to 70 degrees, so feels fallish to us. Remembering why sweaters are practice ( besides being fun to knit) love your video, like you difficult to wear any knitwear here in the full heat of the summer

So for twisted rib you twist all stitches except first and last stitch? Or twist all?
@MediaPeruanaKnits
@MediaPeruanaKnits Ай бұрын
I don't twist the first and last just to create a neat edge. It's just a matter of preference.

I hope the new school year will be good for your lids7and you. For holidays I usually like taking WIPs I want to finish or a test knitting project. I have a little bit more time during holidays for a tiny bit more intricate projects because my family is happy to look after my kids 1 hour here and there ❤.

I gave up on the Kylie sweater, I was using cotton berroco yarn & it just hurt my hands too much

Oh no! I don't think I would use a pure cotton yarn, maybe a blend.

I was using berroco remix which is only 27% cotton, the rest acrylic, silk & linen, but oh my, I have heard people mention cotton is hard on the hands, but I had no idea. Hope you have a lovely vacation.

I did some digging (curiosity got me) and found out, the Tehete yarn stems from China. So yes, it's good to be suspicious. I have also ordered some yarn from China by accident some times and the advertisement never went with the yarn. It was always much thinner, lighter and sometimes not even real wool. (You can make a careful burn test with a string yarn. 100% Real wool should burn to ashes while something synthetic will shrink and have the nasty burning plastic smell.)

I was thinking of doing the burn test on camera but thought better of it 😅😅

thanks for the reviews! I was curious to know how you felt about the LionBrand fisherman wool yarn. I've heard alot of good reviews on it. However, I didn't really like it but I'm new to using wool yarn so I wasn't sure if that's just how pure wool yarn felt.
@MediaPeruanaKnits
@MediaPeruanaKnits Ай бұрын
There are definitely softer wools, but for the price, I think it's still a good choice for projects that won't be worn right next to the skin! I know some people who don't mind it on the skin, though, so I may be on the more sensitive side!

Hi, I say frog it and make something you will truly love with the mislabeled yarn. As you may find yourself looking at the finished project and thinking of it negatively. Alternatively make both versions the one you originally planned in the sport weight and fix the worsted to be in a gauge you’d have knit it in if you’d known what it was from the beginning. And publish both patterns together or separately. Ultimately it’s about doing what makes you happy and with being happiest with your end result and that item being wearable for you. Best of luck what ever you do will be beautiful 😊❤

Hello, I am sorry to hear it was definitely mislabelled ! Things like that can happen. I would suggest to finish the top and to publish it for autumn. It could be a vest or a tee to layer with dresses or long sleeves t shirt. 😊

I love this! I have been living a vegan lifestyle for 20 years, mostly for environmental reasons but also ethical, and been doing fiber art (lika sewing and knitting) for equally long time. Its hard since cotton and linen isnt warming and i dont want to use plastic yarn. This has led to me using wool yarns, since i feel its the lesser of two evils. I just make sure to buy it second hand or the most ethically produced yarns i can find.
