The CRJ-550 is honestly one of the best-kept secrets in regional aviation. As someone who’s really into aircraft design, I’m blown away by how Mitsubishi took the CRJ-700 platform and reconfigured it into a 50-seater with first-class seating. The seat pitch is insane for a regional jet, plus the fact that they’ve optimized the overhead bin space to fit standard carry-ons is such a win for frequent travelers. What’s really cool, though, is how they’ve managed to integrate larger passenger capacity while staying within the same basic airframe, and still improving on fuel efficiency with that updated powerplant. Also, the lower operating cost per seat mile is a major win for airlines, but what’s crazy is it doesn’t even sacrifice passenger comfort. And the cabin pressurization system makes the ride noticeably smoother-fewer pressure fluctuations on ascent and descent compared to other regional jets. The CRJ-550 is such a great example of modular design done right!

What's up with the OLD HYBRID colored nose cone on the United 737 at 1:40?

Maintenance related, at some point the aircraft's nose cone needed replacement and they took it from an old livery 737.
