1:28 SOO Line #1003 meets a 1999 or 2000 Chevy Micro Bird 4 row School Bus, I like the Micro Bird Girardin Buses way better with it's wheelchair lift for special needs child.

This contraption I see right now reminds me so much of what the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk has. Will you ever recognize the setup they have? They have a different setup, of course. You didn't tour this place. This amusement park has always changed.

These machines are amazing! There is one at the Carillon park museum in Dayton, Ohio. I was completely mesmerized by it. The craftsmanship and skill involved in making this machine is just fascinating. By the time my mind caught up with the situation and realized that there was no recording blaring through a speaker inside the fancy box and that each of the instruments were actually making the music, my family had moved on to other parts of the museum without me. Missing time is real folks! Thank's for the video

I see that the 8419 has an automatic Stoker but in the video they are hand firing it to the do not use the automatic Stoker?
@trainking794 ай бұрын
They only consume 1 ton of coal per trip and it's on the uphill climb mainly so the stoker is almost obsolete

7:00 what is making all the racket in the cab? Sounds is that from the stoker jets? Man, i'd rather shovel that monster by hand than hear SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH all day long

Hi Jim, I have a question for you. Since this locomotive has a feedwater heater, and the gauging to go with it, do you have a video by chance of the gauge while the feedwater pump is in operation while in motion and or while stopped? I'm trying to figure out the actual operation of the feedwater system to hopefully adapt it to 7.5 inch gauge for my Pacific. I'm going to have Worthington FW pumps, but I don't think that matters as a form of operation. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Operating a steam locomotive without gloves... not safe

Not safe? Have you ever operated a steam locomotive before? Do you know what is actually hot or unsafe to touch without gloves? It appears you speak on something you don’t know much about

I'm wondering how it compares with an American locomotive of the same class?
@DynamicDuo7959 ай бұрын
This is an American engine when you think about it. The China Railways QJ class is a derivative of the Soviet Railways LV class, which was based on a class of American built 2-10-2 engines that were exported to Russia during the 1930's. Hence, why this Chinese built engine bares a strong American resemblance and American style features. There's a reason why these engines were very easily able to be set up to run here in the United States.

My Dad did that for a while before WWII. They were paid piece rate. Guy at the forge, would toss the rivet. One guy would catch it in a cup put it in the hole. Two behind the rivet one big guy on the jack hammer. 12 hour shifts, six days a week.
