Hi professor, is it possible to set a "add to" to be full, and if it is full the entity goes to another location (for exemple entity sink)?

Thank you for your videos. In addition to the questions added to my comment for your other video, it would be interesting to know whether I can develop custom logic blocks with defined interfaces for reuse in Jaamsim? You indicate this with your browm square frames in your video. For example, a reusable block that contains two conveyors that forward material to an assembly operation, with a third conveyor facilitating material flow towards the "exit". This custom block would have two input interfaces, for the two conveyors. The block would have one exit interface, for the output conveyor and material flow. Thank you in advance. Kind regards, Linnart Felkl

Professor Nelson, thank you for this video. If I see this correctly, then this is a push-based production control, and there is only one product. Buffers are emptied based on a FIFO logic. Could you also implement something like the following with Jaamsim? - Pull controls instead of push controls - Inventory controls based on more complex rules than simply FIFO (e.g. random part retrieval) - What if I have 100 product group - can I manage this variance and I want to manage inventory and prioritize between product groups and dependend part families - Instead of specifying a source that generates jobs with a random distribution or fixed intervals, I want to specify some sort of production schedule and execute it with the simulation Many thanks in advance. Kind regards Linnart Felkl

As a newcomer to JAAMSIM thank you for your tutorial. Using the latest version of JAAMSIM I have a problem to connect in a simple model as yours 3 objects with the link (as shown in your model the last 3 objects). The queue(FG) does not connect to the EntityConveyor. What is the right forum to ask these simple question?

How can I create a condition so that my component does not leave server 1 via the convayer towards server 2 until server 2 is free again? Thank you very much!!!
@professorbnelson35922 жыл бұрын
I think of this like a Kanban signal. You can build the signal with an Expression Threshold that looks at the downstream Server 2 and opens when the server is free (I usually base it on the que length, but something like [Server2].State="Idle" might work. (not sure if I have the right syntax here). When you run the model, the expression threshold should alternate between open/closed and show red/green status. Now you can add this threshold item in the Threshold tab of Server1. See 3.3.2 in the Jaamsim manual for an example. Hope that helps!
@Luke-ew9mk2 жыл бұрын
@@professorbnelson3592 thank you very much! The Expression Threshold was a very good hint. I messed a bit around and it works with "'[Server_x].NumberInProgress < 1'"

Thank you. Can the times/durations be drawn randomly from a distribution to better simulate real-world behavior?
@professorbnelson35923 жыл бұрын
Yes - Jaamsim includes several distribution functions to be able to model real-world timing of events - product arrivals, etc.

Very well presented and especially your own avatar as 'Professor Nelson' speaker, made from it seems like Google Teachable Machine or some other software. Awesome. This shows how your knowledge sharing and tutorial presentations have actually effected the students and learners and very soon the global population. Very well done and explained. Better than cool - Deep Ice Freeze. Salutations. This course given by Conestoga College and taught by Professor Nelson is actually 'A key to success' for the future. This is the continuation of "Industry & Quality 4.0". Keep up the standards and knowledge contribution.

This is an excellent JaamSim introduction by Prof Nelson which provides a basic overview and a launching point for creating your own simulation models. Prof Nelson does such a great job of walking the user through each step and building confidence along the way. His method encourages exploration and discovery. I really appreciated the time and effort put into this video.

Hello Sheldin. Conestoga has some excellent programs. The PQE and QAMM make a good 2-yr package. The college website has a course list for both of these that explains what courses you would take. There are also many many international students I'm sure you could reach out to that have graduated to ask about their experience. Good luck in your applications!
