@@mistersirgaming870 after thinking on it, what made the most sense to me was saving Chloe. After everything, it made sense to me. It all ties back to her, before the rest of Arcadia Bay. Max has worn herself thin trying to save everyone in this town, but at the root of it al, it all began because she left Chloe behind. It's not karma, so much as what seems like the end-result of Max's personal growth to me. She can't be responisble for the whole world. But she can fix her orginal mistake, and be there for the person who needed her most of all and here is a perfect description of Max Geeky and a little goofy, in that teenage nerd way. Soft-spoken and artistic. In her own head a lot. Outsider looking in, using her camera as a gateway into a world that she otherwise feels detached from. Sensitive, overly empathetic to the point of getting emotional over discarded toys and old cars. Tries to extend kindness to everyone, but also not above getting petty and maintaining grudges. Will act out when she sees injustice being done to someone, despite her meek overall attitude. Introverted and bad with people, but easygoing and sassy once she's truly comfortable with someone. Desperate to be liked, by just about anyone, and not above doing all sorts of manipulative shit for it. Nosy to a fault. Anxious and fidgety, with very low self esteem. Extremely indecisive, guilty of wallowing over the past while incapable of making important decisions for her future, leaving her stuck in place. Brave, and fiercely devoted. Tries to do the right thing always, but then, not above prioritizing her loved ones above the greater good. Since gaining her powers, she becomes stronger, more driven, more confident, more outgoing, less timid and scared. A force to be reckoned with, by the end of the game

Frank honestly speaking, is not a good person not at all the dude hooks up with a high schooler and he's 28 in BTS and 31 in LIS1. the guy hooks up with a 18-19 year old girl who is still in high school. BTS gave me respect for him as a person, however he def is not a good person. Also Farewell is barely a hour if that. and that's if you do and look at everything.

So now I can actually talk about my theory, about the storm. Seeing as you've seen stuff Prospera is a character in a play that can control the weather my theory is Rachel has elemental powers based around her emotions, both the wind and the fire in episode 1 do things when she is upset. and then the fire on the candles gets more intense as she is getting angrier and angrier I don't know if you noticed the candled actually intensifying when she was getting angry, Devs have said they will never confirm nor deny if Rachel had powers I actually believe Rachels death causes the storm in the first game, I think Max's powers accelerate the storm. considering the fact that in the timeline where Max goes to San Fran the storm hit 9 days after it hit in other timelines. So I don't think Max's powers cause the storm, however I think Max and Rachels powers have a negative reaction to each other. This is just a Theory and my personal headcannon.

So here’s something I just thought of after reading that. Since the storm doesn’t hit the town if Chloe dies then WHAT IF Rachel is controlling the storm the entire time. She wants to be reunited with Chloe and maybe since she is dead she can see that Max has powers that can save Chloe and that is why Rachel would show Max the storm before she knew she had powers so that Max would be deterred from saving Chloe so that Rachel could be with her again.

@@mistersirgaming870 I disagree with that with the notion that the deer is Rachel, the fact is Rachel warned Max if she is the deer, about the storm before Max even got her powers, the doe was in her vision. I believe it was Rachel trying to find a way to warn Chloe to get out of the bay.

@@mistersirgaming870 What i think the storm is as Chloe says, is literally "Rachel's Revenge" Rachel wanted revenge on the whole town for what they did to her. She gave Max her powers to save Chloe, and get her out of Arcadia Bay like she always dreamed of. The tornado visions, were warnings of the storm, so Chloe and Max could get out of Arcadia Bay in time. Rachel, which Chloe said "was guiding them to the truth". She wanted Chloe and Max to have closure first, so she took the form of a doe and lead Max and Chloe to finding out the truth and what really happened to her. In Episode 2, when you see the Doe in the junkyard, it is standing directly above Rachel's buried body, which isn't revealed until Episode 4. Rachel's plan wasn't perfect, as you can see it had many unexpected consequences, such as the alternate reality where Chloe is in a wheelchair. Rachel was trying to influence Max, but she didn't have full control over Max's actions and Max was still learning about her powers. Eventually in the end, Max and Chloe reunite at the lighthouse, where the tornado is about to strike and destroy the town. You can either sacrifice Arcadia Bay, which in my headcanon, is what Rachel truly wanted. Or, you can sacrifice Chloe, which isn't what Rachel truly wanted, but she at least reunites with Chloe, getting the Prescotts and Mark Jefferson busted, and giving the full town closure.

Also if you go into the Rachel and Chloe hideout that night and wrote max was here on the wall with Rachel and Chloe were here. Was is crossed out and is overwritten with IS Max's and Chloe's names will be circled in red, and to the left of the text in big bold letters, it'll say "YOU'RE ALL GOING TO DIE" in red assuming it was Nathan's blood.

The Voice acting work here is so good, because Ashly Burch the VA for Chloe, 2 weeks before doing the junkyard. scene lost a close friend to a overdose, this was done in one take and Hannah, Max's also lost a close loved one around the same time, the tears the two shed in this are genuine. They were asked if it was better if they rescheduled and they said no, they were also in the same room when shooting the emotional scenes. this scene was actually done in a single take, not a second one was done because it was perfect. as it captured the genuine emotion the two were still processing from their own grief, and the subject matter with it being the same thing that killed Rachel. And my theory on the deer, the first time you actually see it, it leads you to where Rachels body is and stands over it you just don't know the meaning of it by that point. My Theory is that Deer was Rachel's spirit animal and Max shares the same spirit animal so that's why she could see it, it was Rachel trying to lead them to her body, and it lowers it's head as if it's sad before it disappears, seeing Chloe breaking down.

I actually disagree that Chloe is meant to die. Instead, I think the point of the game is that you can't save everyone. Sometimes saving just one person is all you can do. Let us consider the storm and Max's powers. While the common opinion is that Max caused the storm, Max first saw the Storm before seeing Chloe die and before her powers manifested. Further, in the timelines in which Chloe is killed outside of the bathroom, the Storm still hits. This is suggestive then that the Storm is going to hit Arcadia Bay no matter what. When Max won the Everyday Hero contest, the Storm hits Arcadia Bay nine days after it hit in other timelines. While some might like to claim that the Storm hits because Max used her time travel abilities, the fact is this: Max uses her time travel abilities in the Sacrifice Chloe ending. She remembers fully what happened. She went through a picture and then emerges on the other side to a sunny funeral... and full memory of what happened. But since she traveled through time, if her powers caused the Storm Arcadia Bay will still be destroyed... and Chloe will be dead as well. Max attempts to be a hero and save nearly everyone... and will end up saving no one. Correlation is now the same thing as causation. Max is having flash-forwards of the Storm. She is not causing it however. Indeed, for all we know, the Storm may be causing Max's abilities. She may think it's because of Chloe as was said in Chapter Five but recall: the Storm was seen in her first vision before Chloe appeared. And the people who claim Max caused the Storm (either Max herself or Warren) are not scientists. They are high school students and are working off of time travel tropes from science fiction. They are making assumptions that cannot be verified. As for Chloe herself... Chloe suffers from self-destructive behaviors and may be borderline suicidal. Her offer to die for Arcadia Bay is born of guilt. She does not want her mother to die. She has had an adversarial relationship with her mother and her stepfather and this Storm is going to make it so she cannot make amends. So if she dies? She doesn't suffer that guilt. Her offer to die is ultimately selfish. Now, consider Max herself. The further into the series we go, the more we see Max doubling down on her decision: Chloe must live. Even as Chloe argues on letting her die, Max is saying Chloe is her number one priority. So would Max save a town of people she barely knows? There's two people in Arcadia Bay that she has a connection with: Chloe, and Joyce. The rest of the students? Are people who has known for slightly over one month... and will likely not see again after she graduates from high school. Literally this is "would you sacrifice your best friend for a town of strangers?" If you are an 18-year-old girl who is growing increasingly traumatized after being abused and all-but-molested and who has one person she can confide in, one person she can trust, one person she may even be in love with? No. You don't let your friend's guilt keep you from ripping up that photograph. You let that town die and you feel horrible guilt over it... but I think Max finally realized the truth: you can't save everyone. So save the ones you can and accept you're not a superhero. Accept you're ordinary. I personally couldn't let her die. Just imagine, she thinks her father abandoned her, then you abandoned her since she will never know about the entire week, then Rachel abandoned her. I couldn't let her die thinking that she was completely alone and had no reason to really live. Second, Max did really love her and wrote in her diary at some point that she wouldn't be able live without Chloe. If you lost Chloe, what next? You couldn't ever talk to anyone about it, you couldn't ever mention it without people thinking you're crazy. You'd have to completely hold it in and know it was your decision to let her die. Also with people saying think of Joyce and David, any parent would give life and limb to save their child no matter the cost. Imagine Joyce having to live with burying William AND Chloe. We saw David break down after telling him Chloe was dead. I don't think I would be able to do that to anyone. Many of the character developments that happened throughout the game changed people for the better. And going back undo's all of that work, it tells you your choices don't matter, which is interesting as a meta take on the format of the choices have consequences type of games, it feels partially like a deconstruction. The easter eggs are also genuinely better in the future games in in the series if Chloe lives, won't spoil things though.

Ok, a lot to unpack. The interpretation of the storm’s origin is going to be an interesting topic once I finish BTS according to another comment of yours I saw. Speaking from my current knowledge I don’t think the storm would be caused by Max simply using her powers but as soon as the timeline is interrupted by saving Chloe then it starts to fall apart and the storm is then coming into play to “fix the timeline”. Although even when you sacrifice Chloe you still change the timeline by saving Victoria and Nathan and getting Jefferson arrested. OR the “original” timeline was dependent on Max using her powers to learn about Jefferson, the dark room, etc and the storm was acting as a barrier to make sure she learned everything but still kept her in check to carry out the intended timeline. So many ways you can go about pulling strings with the timeline theories! If I remember correctly, and I may not be, sacrificing Chloe did stop the storm and saved everyone in the town so depending on your personal approach to the world as the player it was very pragmatic to select the town over Chloe. The storm hitting on a different day when you win the contest is definitely something I did not catch during my play through because that certainly opens an entire new way to approach the timeline theories. When it comes to Chloe’s decision to sacrifice herself I see it from the opposite point of view. I agree that she is self destructive and selfish (and that’s not entirely her fault) but I see her decision to sacrifice herself as a selfless act. I see it as her way of acknowledging that she would be the reason that everyone in town was saved and she doesn’t need any of the credit for it, she just wanted to do what was right in her eyes. Like you said, even if Max did try to credit Chloe with saving everyone’s life no one would believe her because only Max and Chloe lived that life for those handful of days. As far as Chloe being abandoned by everyone that is probably the most heartbreaking part of the story and even though Rachel didn’t leave Chloe it sucks that from Chloe’s perspective she will never learn what really happened if she sacrifices herself. Ultimately it’s tough because I see both sides now that I’ve experienced the whole story and now that I have started BTS I don’t know that I’d make the same choice although I don’t know if I’d go the route of making Max and Chloe more than friends. I love the Chloe/Rachel story and it sucks that we know how it ultimately ends and I don’t know if I like Max as much as Rachel when it comes to that part of Chloe. I will say that I like what you mentioned about all the decisions being a waste when you choose to sacrifice Chloe because you’re kinda right. Outside of any personal growth that Max gets it just all gets undone.

@@mistersirgaming870 I HIGHLY recommend checking out the Titan comics of the Life is Strange game's afterwards, there are 4 volumes and it actually follows the BAE timeline(Chloe lives timeline) It's actually really adorable and Chloe has matured alot in it.They are and aren't canon at the same time, as it says when you open the volumes that this is just one interpretation of how the story goes after. and everything getting undone, the fact Max has to live with it without ANYONE she can really talk to about it, meaning she is going to be practically alone, she can't talk to a psychiatrist or a counselor about it because they'd think she's crazy. But i also do think to assume everyone dies in the other ending is abit I disagree with it because there were those bunkers all over the place in Arcadia Bay, like I doubt no one would know about them, But I'll point out one thing you may not realize. Max wasn't thrown in the bunker because you went back in time. Who was Jeffersons' backup? Who went there to save you? That bunker was designed to withstand tornados. Chloe's actually my favorite character in the entire series, but I also get she is a character you either absolutely hate or love, with little wiggle room for in-between. We de do know the storm stops, in that timeline, but why did it not stop when Jefferson shot her in the head? I believe Max's powers do play a part in the storm, but I don't actually think it's what causes it. There is another theory about the storm being generated by Nathan, which i can talk about, becaue there is cut audio files of Nathan knowing about the storm in the game files. Nathan and Jefferson have alot of cut dialogue still in the files. and Nathans are interesting to say the least, and we know Episode 5 got rushed. It's not what I believe but it's possibe Nathan caused the storm. The devs quite literally left so much up for interpretation on purpose because it causes a never-ending conversation about it. And the Chloe selfless act, it really depends on the way you look at it, it's selfish she'll never be able to make amends but selfless that she is willing to die to let everyone else live. I also wish you read Max's journal more, as it gave you incite into who Max is she isn't some self insert or basic character like alot of people think she is. I both love and hate this ending it's narratively I think it's better, but the the shit Max had been with Chloe through the fact Chloe is likely the only person she can actually confide in if she is alive, there is 0 way she isn't going through insane amounts of PTSD regardless of if she is alive or not. but without her she has no one she can actually talk to about in a way that can help her cope. Like she can't talk to a counselor about it and go into details as none of it happened in that timeline besides Chloe dying. her experience in the dark room, she can at least talk too Chloe about everything. and Chloe deserves better then dying on the floor of a bathroom, thinking she was abandoned and that she had no one. It sucks the only time you can kiss her with a genuine passionate kiss between the two is the one where she dies. I did this ending once and never again, and wasn't the first ending I picked either. Max was faced with a impossible choice, save the love of her life, or the town. it's not as easy of a choice as it seems.

I have never thought about it that way. Max having to live with an experience that to everyone else is just nonexistent. That definitely adds another layer of heartache that most people never realize. As you can see I was not a big fan of Chloe in this game and made my decision although I immediately feel like I made the wrong one from an emotional standpoint. I have started Before The Storm and I feel completely different about Chloe now that I am seeing all of the backstory from her perspective and it’s heart breaking experiencing everything knowing the outcome and the fact that you can’t change any of it no matter what decisions you make.

What you should of done is put yourself in max's shoes, remove Chloe from the equation and put the most important person in your life in the shoe's of Chloe, could you make that call then. If you read Max's journal at all, you find out that Max is kind of crushing hard on her regardless of the decisions you make in the game.
