I’ve been doing worm casting for at least 20 yrs now. I presently have 3- 4x24 ft worm bins and a few of those smaller bin you have there. No offense but I could always tell when a person doesn’t know about worms. And are doin a video for the sake of just doing a video. Worms don’t eat food scraps. I’m sure you’re confused now. Let me explain, The worm eat bacteria that the decomposing food provides. Bacteria love to eat food that are high in sugar. Example: sweet ripe banana. Which is why worms congregate around a ripe banana which looks like the worms love bananas but in reality it’s the bacteria they’re after. Now compost is a good source of food, it has ton of bacteria for the worms to eat 👍🏼. FYI: leachate is NOT good for your plant. It has nasty anaerobic bacteria which is not what you want to put on your plants. Worm tea IS good for your plant . Leachate and worm tea are not the same thing. In 20 yrs I’ve never used a light. Light to keep the worms in is not needed, if they have moisture and food (bacteria from manure). I promise you they won’t leave. In fact I just started a small bin today with out a light. I provided moisture and food in a form of compost which had a ton of bacteria. Happy worms stay 👍🏼

W/ regard to covering the wood...I plan to use a tarp. Did you say that one should have a vertical distance between the top of the firewood stack and the tarp? Or, can I just lay the tarp on top of the stack and secure it down w/ multiple sticks of firewood?
@ciphercode22986 ай бұрын
You can lay it directly ontop of the wood stack, but to be honest I cut mostly red oak in early spring and by fall it's down to between 15% -20% moisture content. I only cover mine when we get into the snowy season. Rain just runs off it and cant absorb rain moisture easily

I set mine up like that and it has fallen over twice. The pieces of wood are exposed to the weather though and we have had a lot of rain and the cinder blocks have probably sunk into the ground unevenly. Either than or a squirrel or other critter may be climbing it and its weight may be causing it to tip over. I'm going to have to relocate it to a cement slab.
@KevinDando Жыл бұрын
Oh man. So sorry. Mine fell over once in two years but I stacked it too high and didn’t distribute the weight evenly. Hope the slab works better for you.

I always find it cool to see slight mods/updates on products that are sometimes based on what region of the country the product was manufactured; my BT150 has a red DOWN for CHOKE, UP for RUN POSITION switch, and the priming bulb is located on the bottom of the machine. REGARDLESS, these are great leaf blowers, and this video was put together really well!! Congrats...

My mom has some of those fire starter logs. You only need a very small piece of it to get your fire going, so I broke it up into several small pieces. Also, since I live in a heavily wooded area, I gather several small branches and twigs to use for kindling.

If you're going to drill through the mason seal lid, use a step bit and avoid the rough blowout. For mine, I didn't use the lid and screwed through the mason band.

I read that if you manually kill one, throw the dead bee in the jar to attract others. Otherwise give it time or pick up some carpenter bee lure

I was just going to read an article about seasoned firewood, when your video about that task started, and your humor stopped me in my tracks! That was the video I needed, after the chuckle. Went to your channel page, looking for this video, but first got to see you carry out every parents fantasy, what they'd love to do with a t.v., lol.. the humor plus serving straight details..love it.
