the band found a sound and look that i wish lasted longer. it wasnt silly looking, Gene finally found a hair style that didnt look like Andre The Giant. Singer filled some big shoes just like Carr did before. Bruce kept adding depth. I saw him on the Animalize tour, pre internet, no idea who he was. semi comfortable on stage letting Gene and Paul take center.

The most talented guitar player kisses ever had unique such a humble person, not about himself more than a team player as he put up with a lot of Gene and Paul’s orders. However, they had a vision. It was their baby Bruce respected that.

I don’t wanna be a dick, cause I love KISS.. but Bruce was pretty instrumental in keening them alive in the 1980s. I of course love the 70s stuff best but I’m too young to have been there live. Now when you talk to the fans who were die hard and went to any show they could? They all say “Bruce era KISS shows were the most fun” And what’s a KISS show end of the day? I’m there for the music but I know just as many are there for the vibe and fun. Also like five years in he coulda been a prick, he never did. Never got a big head. I like him. You wanna know who a person is? How do they treat the nobodies? I’ll never forget in Wendy Moores book when she was like “Bruce was the nicest guy ever. Any time I was around he was always the one who was cool and smiling and happy to say hi” I dunno, that’s just cool. And I think it was a shame that during the last show Eric and Bruce weren’t there or the Kruise. I dunno man, anyways. We still have a piece of KISS in Bruce and he’s a healthy guy with many more years of music in him so we should feel lucky I suppose. Rock on!

My favorite song on this album was every time I look at you, I could almost hear a country feel to that track.

My favorite guitar you had was the esp horizon candy apple red. I remember being a kid watching you play it and just dreaming to play like you in the late 80s, early 90s, KISS days. I even bought me LTD MH-50 just because it was similar to what you played. Never did sound as good as yours haha.

Grunge kiss. They used to set the trends in 70s now after getting rid of the makeup..they did nothing but follow follow follow. I mean... starting the lp w plugging in a guitar to amp ( buzzing) sounds)is just so tired n you knew it was gonna be a wannabe fest.. The production too is terrible. Singer over plays like.. look at me n my chops..but where is the swing?? It doesn't exist because it's not about the song but the ego's..( humble guy's they were not) it never makes for a good LP. Also blatantly ripping off AIC by stealing the lryic.. I think it's gonna rain... Desperate attempt at something' .. still trying to figure it out for sure cringe worthy..

Kiss w out makeup is just horrible..not the band i fell in love w in 77 ..they just turned into a very average wannabe poison.. haven't bought any kiss lp that had them w out makeup

this is the path kiss should have taken, is such a shame we never saw what else they were capable of making, at least this album managed to remain alive, literally a hidden gem

To me Crazy Nights was a hybrid album sorts that paralleled the mega hit soundtrack for Top Gun , the parallels practically jump out but in a subtle manner, although I for one still can’t believe that “Reason to Live” didn’t become a top 5 hit at that time? 🤷‍♂️

Crazy Nights is the album that really personified the non makeup era version of KISS! Absolutely love that album, front to back! The guitars and drums on this record are stellar! Love the video, Bruce!!

Revenge was definitely their heaviest album! Carnival was very heavy too! Revenge is my favorite record from the non makeup era! I wish Eric Carr could’ve been around longer to see the success. Much love and respect to you, Bruce!

Hi Bruce, just for my information : what gauge do/did you use on the 1868 Ovation, and on the MTV Unplugged show ? I've got a 92 collector edition similar to the 1868 you play, and I've noticed that lighter gauge feel better on this model. Many thanks and cheers from Paris France 🎸
