I'm glad there are still simracing games that'll run on older pc's like mine 15 year old with only 8Gb RAM and a GTX760. But except for the graphics update, I can now crank up the setting from (very) low to medium without loss of performance.

I will buy this pack whenever it goes on sale. Raceroom is such an old platform and I always found their track selection pretty lackluster. Also, I like painting cars, and Raceroom doesn't give you that possibility, so that's another demerit in my eyes. The graphical update is the most underwhelming thing ever. It's just a shade.

Fun fact, the publisher has 3 mobile games about this series, ACTC Racing, Turismo Nacional and TC Racer. They are kinda ok games, with WILDLY understeery handling, but actually have quite good graphics for a mobile sim-like. I'm willing to bet most assets are just carry overs from the mobile titles

Well, just tried the DTMs95. They are pretty cool to drive, unfortunately, they are not manual shifters... At least I have the DTM92 for that, and others... :) But LMU have ruined part of the magic of other sims for me, damned it!... And yeah, the graphics are better for sure with the update, I like it. Still oldish, but with a nice makeover.

Yeah, and they had a small update so that you don't have to disconnect you VR anymore if you are not going to use it.

Had the same feeling when it changed, but after getting used to it and incrementing ffb force, now it is great and more natural.

I am surprised, you did not notice a big difference in the graphics. Not saying that R3E graphics are perfect now (definitely still a lot of room for improvements, I especially find, that many textures should have a higher resoultion), but I think it is a huge difference compared to before. Overall lighting, colours, sky, shadows, rearview mirrors, particles, trees, all a lot better imho. And on top of that, a very noticeable performance improvement. In VR (Reverb G2), I could increase the resolution by +50% and enable full shadows, compared to before, and still run at stable 90fps.

I noticed the reflections, but somehow the particles I didn't find worth mentioning. As I said, maybe I'm too jaded. But other than the reflections, nothing struck as "Oh wow, that's utterly new". And yes, the stability, especially on VR, has for sure to do with the gigantic updates done under the hood. The technical information given hinted to that.

TBH, i cant find any graphical improvement other than different colors here and there, if you have a Nvidia GPU just hit Alt+f3 and you can make better color and brightness adjustments thant this update. i was expecting something else to buy the premium but it is a No No because they increased the price by 30 Euros. lets see what automobilista 2 brings to the table!

@@NotSchiZo_ To be clear, I was referring to graphics quality improvements that, from a user's perspective, are minimal and still far from modern standards. I'm not questioning the amount of work that went into it. From a technical standpoint it might be huge and unlock future advancements that were previously impossible. Performance was never an issue for me, especially compared to other titles.

As I said. I think from their perspective it's huge because it at last opens many possibilities, and it's the second if not third try by KW devs to upgrade the engine's graphics. From our perspective, not being able to look under the hood, it's not as huge because what we see is nice and all, but not revolutionary.

Yeah, they've done good improvements in reducing calculations for things you don't or barely see. I think the big change wrt graphics is not what we see now, but what will happen in the next months or years because of the tremendous re-coding that has happened. In IT, this is called refactoring and when done well means you are getting (kinda) the same results using less resources and therefore having more freedom to do other things.

Just another thing, Serta you are wrong about to ask or wait for Turismo Carretera series on this sim, the cars included are from categories that no are part of the association that owns the Turismo carretera series (ACTC) and his diffusion/image rights. The cars and categories included on this sim are part of the APTP, not ACTC. And believe me, you are not loosing anything good to not have the Turismo Carretera series, this series use to be great over 80's and 90's but last 15/20 last years the category is just popular because of the past history and more from emotional side than technical or pure racing spirit. The cars are rare prototypes with carburetor engines and tubular frames, now trying to replicate forms of new cars, the whole category loose the horizon 30 years ago. The most similar cars to what Turismo Carretera used to be are the big ones included in this sim. I'm 48 years old, following races here since childhood and you can believe that you not loose anything, actually, for me, Turismo Carretera sucks, and the more entertaining races comes from the categories included on this sim.

@@WromWrom Nope, the second tier of Turismo Carretera (TC) is called TC Pista (TCP) and is not the same that Turismo Pista,.... I know, the name are very similars, could cause confutions even for us living here, but they are different categories and very differents cars. The TCP is very similar to the TC, exterior shape similar to old rear traction Ford´s, Chevy´s and Dodge´s from the 60´s over a tubular frame and big old engine blocks (6 line cylinders of 4.0 liters and more) ´´modernized´´, rear traction. The Turismo pista are made from new (here) small and medium size street cars that anyone can buy in the Argentinian car market today, all of them front traction, 4 cylinders and around 1.6 liters engines.

Ibought them just to support the iniciative. No problems to detect and configure my base (Simagic), some work with the pedals calibration, (they must include some kind of explanation about dead zones and zero zones). I don't care too much about graphics, miss some details on the road mainly, they must work hard on this. The circuits are boring but they are equal in real life (I'm from Argentina and I have the opportunity to make some track days on some of those). The physics of the cars for me are ok, not great but ok. I give the chance to test more time, hoping that developers make improvements next few months. More kind of support the developer than enjoy of the sim.

@@WromWrom The FFB works with Simagic and Logitech, but still need work too, for me works better than Rennsport for example, but still need a lot of work. I know they can improve a lot, they need money to do that and I think is time to support. Try to contact them, maybe they can do something quick for you

There is work to do but plenty driveable for me. My Simucube 2 Pro and Heusinkveld Pros (clutch, brake, gas) work fine after calibration and assignment. Hit and miss for some though unfortunately. Hope it get sorted and improve at a fast and steady pace.

Did your Simucube get recognized immediately or did you do something specifically? And how's the FFB?

@@WromWrom My Simucube and Heusinkvelds were named in the controller menu right away but calibration and assigning was required to make them actually work when driving. The ffb does the job but feels a tad flat/numb/indirect, as an imediate impression, compared to the more developed games. Your 'wheelage' will probably vary. All in all I like the game as a start.

Either you have EXTREME graphics like Gran Turismo 7 or Assetto Corsa + CSP, or you have NONE of it like Art of Rally, Richard Burns Rally or Live for Speed. This game sadly struck the disastrous middle ground of neither.

I could live with mediocre graphics for a while (it's Early Access after all) but Simucube and pedals not being fully recognized hurts - and the VR issue is bizarre.

@@WromWrom No ppl have to stop buying these 1/2 baked sims/games in EA, we have the power but everyone wants something new ASAP even EA does not guarantee you will get a finished product, 1.0, updates ect... but ppl dont seem to read that when buying a EA.

Stephen Hood already said that they don't plan to do anything more with rF2 which makes sense with their business model. Basically it's LMU 100% with a very tiny chance of a "rF3" in the far flung future (likely once they've run out of milk from the LMU cash cow) based on everything they've done with LMU. The most we can expect from the platform is a small update here and there for hot fixes and anything related to Race Control since it ties in with LMU.

RF2 will get nothing unless it makes them money or affects them making money, RF3 will take them yrs to build code is still a mess. open source rf1 and rf2 even at a min like AC watch the community make them bigger and better than ever before.

All rf3 will be is a un scrambled version of rf2 same engine will take many yrs to get done, then when done will it compete with modern sims and new engines is the question.

He can make a profit, But I don't want to lose a few dollars each month, I don't even play this game often so it will be a big waste at the end of the year. Does patreon even offer one-time payments?

The price change for LMU dlc apparently in some countries doubled the price. This is just more stupidity that should have been all sorted before the game was released on steam, or as some have said is it a money grab either way just bad business.

I'd be surprised if Fanatec disappears as a brand. But it's a good question who will buy them. If it's still going to be Corsair it's a good bet the brand will keep it's quality. Anybody else, I just don't know right now. Maybe wait until the situation is clearer.

The Alpine LMDH sounds absolutely incredible in real life, got to hear it at the WEC race at SPA. I think it is the best sounding car in its class. I hope they capture this ingame.

RF2 had so much potential that was never tapped into unscrambled, could have been the best sim. Dont have faith in MSG/s397 making a rf3 anytime soon. If they want it to be the beast its predecessors could have been they need yrs to do so. Also open up rf1 and rf2 to open source let the ppl take those older products further, it could even teach them a few things. LOL

Is it true they are breaking steam rules by selling content before a release 1.0 version ? DLC before a release 1.0 is a money grab most developers have put off staff not releasing 1.0 versions and still ppl pay for these 1/2 games sims. Community trust by most is lets buy the new sim game then buy the dlc before release 1.0 all because they were told they would get a better deal than buying it later. LMU wonder what the cost will be for users who are waiting for 1.0 release about $143 AU now with all DLC & season pass so with a 25% increase which would take it to about $180 au. Honestly you would have to be highly invested into a sim to dish out this amount of money & then maybe a sub coming on top.

I don't know of any such rule. Which doesn't mean it does not exist, mind you... Yeah, I understand the thinking, and I personally have not bought the DLC nor do I plan to. Even if I enjoy LMU for what it is.
