This repair is brilliant! I have a similar problem on my Sequoia, and giving your approach some serious thought. How is your repair holding up 8 months later? Any lessons you have learned in the time since you did this?

Sorry this response is super late. It’s been 2 years now and it’s still working perfectly. Definitely recommend doing this!
