Always wanted to ask a ships Captain how would you handle the same situation as RMS Titanic with a ice berg and no electronics to detect the obstacle? I not believe reversing the engines and full steering lock to port was the best option. How you or your bridge team handle the same situation today ? With a modern ship 🚢

It's not worth it especially if something goes wrong and even with the best planning to avoid a situation. As you stated that's the time you can safely bet your weekly pay cheque something will happen.
