Very interesting talk. However, the guy who conducted that social study and who came to the conclusion that Germans are high on masculinity... I have lived in Germany: a good 90% of German men have no balls between their legs! Thus, it is fully true that Germans are very high on UA. So I wonder how on Earth Germans can be high on UA and high on masculinity at the same time, when both characteristics contradict each other!

Great talk! It’s surprising how readily we give up or are enticed to give up our privacy and our data!

00:00 🎬 Mike Hill, a designer in the film and games industry, has contributed to various projects including "Blade Runner 2049" and "Love, Death & Robots". 02:12 📚 Stories significantly influence individuals and shape the world, as exemplified by Hitler's worldview influenced by "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion". 03:34 🌐 Joseph Campbell and Carl Jung observed that myths and stories reflect psychological archetypes, shaping human understanding across cultures. 05:27 🌟 The monomyth structure, outlined by Joseph Campbell, is prevalent in various stories like "The Lion King" and "Star Wars", illustrating a hero's journey of self-discovery and transformation. 07:32 🌀 Dan Harmon's story circle simplifies the monomyth structure, emphasizing the journey from the known to the unknown, and the transformation of the self through challenges. 14:12 👥 Self-realization, rooted in Carl Jung's individuation process, is central to storytelling, depicting the integration of personas and shadows within individuals. 16:46 👼 Conscience, influenced by societal authorities, shapes individuals' moral compass, often leading to conformity, but self-realization enables challenging societal norms. 19:24 🦇 In "The Dark Knight," Bruce Wayne's persona as Batman represents his conscience, while the Joker embodies repressed instincts, reflecting Jungian concepts in storytelling. 20:21 🎭 Films often use metaphorical representations to explore complex themes and concepts, such as psychological forces being personified as gods. 21:26 🦹‍♂ The Joker in "The Dark Knight" symbolizes repressed animalistic forces, challenging the arbitrary rules represented by Batman's vigilantism. 24:43 🎭 The Joker's demand for Batman to reveal his identity reflects the internal struggle to conform to societal expectations, mirroring everyday personal battles to uphold social norms. 27:08 🎬 "The Dark Knight" trilogy embodies the Jungian concept of individuation, with Batman's journey representing the integration of shadow aspects and moral rule systems. 31:35 🦕 "Jurassic Park" utilizes archetypes and allegory to explore themes of responsibility and parenthood, with characters representing psychological forces like control and chaos. 39:01 🍪 Archetypal storytelling in "Jurassic Park" resonates deeply, satisfying the subconscious desire for harmonious resolution of polarities. 43:46 💡 Quality storytelling transcends quantitative measures, emphasizing qualitative elements that deeply resonate with audiences, as seen in "Westworld" and "Jurassic Park". 46:31 🎭 Stories, even those with flaws, can have profound impacts on individuals and society, influencing personal values and societal norms. 47:56 🌍 Filmmakers like Spielberg use their stories to highlight societal issues and remind audiences of important values, contributing to shaping societal consciousness.

Actually, what she did there was unnecessary. Instead of: .card-grid:has(> :last-child:nth-child(odd)) > :first-child { grid-column: span 2; } Could have written like this without using the :has() selector: .card-grid > li:first-child:nth-last-child(odd) { grid-column: span 2; } This would be simpler and more performant.
