0:39 hits me in the feels like a freight train……and the rest of it does as well. I love the fact that on this video, if you go to scrub through the “most replayed graph” just shows a pretty flat line across the whole thing……i.e. most replayed = all of it.

Not played a tin whistle for a long time, the wife entered me into the Wexford Fleadh next week for the Guinness World record attempt. Been practicing for couple of months and the picked up a Chieftain Low D, V4. The tutorials have helped me enormously. Several decades of amateur rugby have taken their tole on the hands but my progress is visible. Will pick up a Busker after the Fleadh to enjoy playing for the grandchildren. Would not have made anywhere near the progress without the KZbin clips and tutorials. Thanks very much.

Personally, I think the Optima Fixed Low D is the best of your whistles, they practically never clog, the tune is really accurate, volumen, back-preassure.

air requirement ok......i dont have any trouble with air requirements...... but i must add that i think what prevents me a lot to play longer, is that moisture is condensing in the mouth piece pretty quickly.. which causes difficulty to play low notes because you first need to clear the mouth piece from moist.........

i can hold my breath for 2 minutes easily.... and relite a campfire with my breath only (not so hard ok but just saying for refference to my lung capacity)

hey mister Kerry, i got one of your low D whistles, it is one with the tunable mouth piece, black synthetic. i paid around 150 euros for it, i think the store was Thomann. the sound is really awesome. thank you for sharing your skills to make instruments for other people. ♥ edit; the most i like about Kerrywhistles is the stuff you play yourself, your music really sounds nice, amazing, healing to the soul. God bless you from the netherlands.

I have purchased this low whistle last month, and I'm having a weird problem: when I play, a lot of condensation/water forms on the bottom of the bevel (where there's a small gap with the tube). This affects the sound (as if it was blocked), and the water that accumulates and is blown out soaks my trousers (I play sitting down). Have you already experienced it? What's more, as it's summer, it's not as if the instrument was cold (I'm worried about next winter!). I'm a whistle beginner, but I've been playing the boehm classical flute for 30 years, and I don't have any particular problem with over-salivation/condensation.

We have been using press tooling that is over 20 years old and is now wearing out. The cost to re make the tooling has increased so much that it has become untenable, we also make many other low Ds that take our time.
