Jewish people are always trying to push the idea that being Jewish is something genetic, which it isn’t. Judaism was created five or six thousand years ago, by a small group of men who scribbled out a set of rules and rituals and then announced they were Jewish. One day there were no Jewish people, and the next there were 15, or 20. Those people had a few kids, eventually, and other non-Jews decided they wanted to be Jewish and declared themselves Jewish too, so in various ways, the number of Jewish people grew. At the same time, though, some of the kids who had parents who called themselves Jewish decided Judaism wasn’t for them and left, so right away there’s a problem; people who - according to the Jewish rulebook were Jewish -- walked away from the religion. They, and all their subsequent generations of supposedly Jewish children, got on with their lives; they might have later decided to be Catholic, or Christian, or some other religion, but according to Jewish theory, they, and all their children, (even five thousand years later) are Jewish! (There’s a twist to that, too; I’ll get to it in a minute) But with such a flawed and incoherent basis for determining who is Jewish, it’s kind of foolish for Jewish people to claim Judaism is something inherited. Everybody inherits genetic material from their parents, not just Jewish people The absurdity of Jewish people trying to assign religious affiliation based on genetics is further exposed as false when you consider that, (here’s the twist) according to the Jewish people, it’s gender specific; if you have a Jewish mother but not a Jewish father you’re Jewish, but if you have a Jewish father but a non-Jewish mother, you’re not. Why would a person’s religion be contingent on whether they’re male or female? That’s another absurdity. The Jewish rules about who is a Jewish person are just part of religious mythology, little more than folklore, without a shred of scientific grounding. Incidentally, the Jewish obsession with separating “true” Jewish people from “non-Jews” has become an integral part of the religion itself, which has many other rules and traditions (food, language, holidays, bar mitzvah’s, burial rituals, etc.), designed to ensure that Judaism maintains its insularity, the better to separate Jewish people from “others”, who are not up to Jewish standards (you can read that as “inferior”) and so on. As Rabbi Ovadia Josef said; “Non-Jews exist to serve Jews.”
