Must common issue is the mic isn't wired for the radio. Could also be a damaged mic. I would start by trouble shooting with another microphone that's known to work and is wired for that radio just to rule out the radio.

Holding them together takes 2 hands, then you need 2 more hands. One to hold the solder and one to hold the iron. At minimum with out this tool it takes 3 hands to do this.

@Tinman386wisconsin
@Tinman386wisconsin Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Do a search for surface mount and there will be several videos. Basically it's a solder paste then you place the part in place then heat it up and the paste crawls where it's needed. I think most use the soldering style heat gun.

i want ask u i need to desolder something and i have wick but i dont know what is the best temp for it
@Tinman386wisconsin
@Tinman386wisconsin Жыл бұрын
Not all solder melts at the same temp. Start out at a lower temp and make sure your tip has big enough surface area to melt it evenly and go up on temp until the solder melts in about 5 seconds or so. You don't want too hot because you risk the trace lifting from the board. But remember you also have to heat thru the desolder braid before the solder will start to melt.

@@Tinman386wisconsin thank u for reply man + i watch some videos they use flux + even there is solder on the iron , did u recommended add some solder on iron or just flux and wick , what i want to desolder is xbox analog joystick , so is 300c fine ??
@Tinman386wisconsin
@Tinman386wisconsin Жыл бұрын
@@giovannigiorgio2262 300c is probably fine i usually start out at 280 to 300 i think. No you don't want or need solder on the iron or flux. The desolder braid should wick the old solder right up once its hot enough. If it don't, then you could try a little flux on the braid so it accepts the solder better. But try a little more heat first. The addex flux might make the solder flow and spread out farther, making more of a mess than anything.

@@Tinman386wisconsin thank u for info my last Question i'm scared from oxidation , more heat = oxidation , who solder all time and they have experience they says you have to tin your solder iron before you use it so im confused 😭😭 btw im not pro i know how to solder by watching videos 🫡 so i want to learn more and thank u for ur time
@Tinman386wisconsin
@Tinman386wisconsin Жыл бұрын
@@giovannigiorgio2262 yes, tin your iron and keep the tip clean for sure when soldering. When desoldering it will help with heat transfer to remove the solder with less heat. But it's not totally necessary when desoldering. Often times mine will be a nasty crusty need when removing solder due to high heat on large parts. Then when i solder in the new parts im always dipping and cleaning the tip in the brass wool. Which btw i prefer the brass wool over a wet sponge. It don't cool the tip and cleans faster and easier. Not to mention i funny have to keep wetting the dang sponge.

This is a really good tutorial for beginners like me. I've sometimes junked perfectly good pieces of kit because it would be too expensive to take them to a service centre to solder a joint or two. But ... a question. What's the deal with "sodder" vs "solder". Everybody spells it as in the latter, but Americans (and others? Dunno) seem to drop the "l" when they speak it. Is there a particular reason for this? Enquiring minds want to know!

Hi from England 🇬🇧 I've never soldered anything In my life, about to learn at the tender age of 67 so no spring chicken. 🐤 I'm about to rebuild a DeWalt 18v battery, they recommend using a Spot welder, that's too expensive,so I'm going for solder. Think I'll have to practice a bit before attacking it as apparently heat destroys the batteries, I'll have to be quick and keep the temperature to a minimum. Wish me luck,and thank you for my first lesson, I'm about to go on EvilBay and buy my first soldering iron, I'll let you know how it goes! What could possibly go wrong? 🤪😀👍
