How is the ride experience after 2 months?
@harshit_chugh
@harshit_chugh Күн бұрын
To be honest, haven't been riding a lot because of the weather. But one 2k kms trip was long enough for me to know I'd never regret it, now and never. That said, I have a ride planned end of Feb or early March and will come back to this comment if I have something substantial to share. Most likely, I will still be saying the same thing - this is how the bike should have come from the factory, but lets see! 😀

For recording the exaust souund where did you placed the mic ? What were the gain settings? Did you use wind muffs ?

Attached on the frame. Lowest gain in most situations, except when inside the helmet, gain was bang in between lowest and middle value. Yes, I did.

I've recently booked a 400x and going through accessory videos... i have a question out of curiosity... When you increased the front sprocket by 1 tooth and made the ride smoother, will the smoothness remain when we remove one tooth from the rear sprocket? Will we get a smoother bike with the originally intended acceleration with these 2 mods???
@harshit_chugh
@harshit_chugh 8 күн бұрын
Hehe. What a question. I dont know, but I'd think its not 1:1 impact between front tooth and rear. 1 front must be like 2 or so rear (I guess) so it might be somewhere in the middle. Calculators online could help. Also note the smoothness is only because the bike is now running lower rpm, the lower the rpm you run the better it is (for our use case). So no, shortening the gears isn't going to be same.

Hi there, did you face any stalling issues or issues while starting the bike at times? have heard other owners complaining about this...
@harshit_chugh
@harshit_chugh 28 күн бұрын
You picked the right issue. No I did not face stalling issues then. Only recently I have started facing it, not very often, but sometimes the bike just stalls when I pull clutch to change gears. Even bigger issue is that you can't just put it into gear and jumpstart it from there, you'll have to get into habit of using the starter. When its extremely cold, the bike does have starting issues, yes. Not sure if its specific to my bike. But if you help with the throttle for 10 secs, the bike gets okay post that. Its almost like the ECU is slow and doesn't understand the temperature and accordingly adjust revs. After 10secs, poof, the bike is as good as new again. This is when the temperature is in minus, no issues in general cold. I'll take my bike to the service center and this is one of the things I have on my mind to discuss with the folks there. If you haven't subscribed yet, then pls do (not for this info, in general 🤣).

After watching a lot of Himalayan 450 long term ownership reviews, this feels like a day and night difference. (I'm yet to find an owner who doesn't claim manufacturer defect/uncertainty in RE bikes after purchase)
@harshit_chugh
@harshit_chugh 29 күн бұрын
RE is in another league altogether. This is after they have purchased all big influencers on social media. When the chassis break issues cropped up, every influencer mimicked what RE told them to. They sold the spirit of the community. Copying this from one of the other comments I made; I purchased this one because Himalayan didn't tune to my riding style at all. Also, I don't like how RE as a company is not receptive to bike issues, they have bought almost all influencers on social media. I was worried if my bike also had issues, what would be their reaction. And issues were very common on Himalayan450 when I was in the market.

Buddy is it a bttr option as compared to himalayan 450? Considered touring nd not proper hardcore offroading
@harshit_chugh
@harshit_chugh 29 күн бұрын
I cannot answer that, depends on what you want in a bike. In general - if you hate heavy bikes, dont go for Him450 (it doesnt feel heavy on good roads though). If you like to tour with a pillion, I think Himalayan would be a better option given its easy to rack luggage on it. If you like good low end power, then choose Triumph. If you want reliability, I'd like to think Triumph is better. If you want ease of repair, then Himalayan. If you envision a proper big bike feel (big tank, tall visor etc), then its Himalayan. In stock form, Triumph is an okayish tourer btw. You'll have to reinvest some money saved from the low purchase price to make this a bike better. Brake pads, sprocket is a must. I chose this one because Himalayan didn't tune to my riding style at all. Also, I don't like how RE as a company is not receptive to bike issues, they have bought almost all influencers on social media. I was worried if my bike also had issues, what would be their reaction. And issues were very common on Himalayan450 when I was in the market.

What gloves are you using in the cold? Would you personally suggest Viaterra Tundra or Furygan Dirtroad in a budget around 5K? Very informative and insightful. More importantly straight to the point. Love your videos, should work on your presentation a lil. Happy miles brother!
@harshit_chugh
@harshit_chugh 29 күн бұрын
I cannot comment on the dirtroad, nobody in my community is using those. I have experience with Tundra and they are decent, you'd still need an underglove if its too cold, I have used it with plastic gloves and they were sufficiently decent. Right now I have a cheap winter glove with me, but I'll soon buy a new pair of Tundras. 😁 Thanks for the kind words and constructive feedback, the right way to share feedback! Honestly in this video I wanted to maximise output to effort and kind of experimented with least effort. I didn't even edit the sound clipping in the beginning. Not that I'm lazy, just that I wanted to see the tradeoff between design and info. I'm evaluating whether to put time into editing beyond a certain level, only because I usually have less time from my work (and priority is always travel if theres free time). If my videos pick up, I'll have someone creative partner with me to solve this. 😁 Long answer, but I love having a constructive dialogue so couldn't help myself. Wish you loads of happy fun on the road with your machine sir!!

@harshit_chugh

Hey. No, just the air filter cuts it. Between the sprocket, air filter and my riding behavior I think the bike doesn't need more tuning for smoothness. I had been seriously contemplating a fuelx purchase but after having multiple messages exchanged with them, decided to not go ahead. Answer to your question is that just the air filter should do. But the more resources you have, more the playground you get ;) I'll edit the chapters.

Almost the same time DJI takes to connect to a wired mic. When you turn on video directly (through quickshot / snapshot), it takes about 10 secs of cam to take audio in from the mic, same with this one, connection is established in about 4 to 5 secs on average, sometime quicker and sometimes slower. Note that mic must be on for this, and in bluetooth mode (not receiver mode).

@ yeah that’s the only issue with dji. Before action 4 I was using gopro so in gopro the connection was instant even in quikshot. And in action 4 sometime it take 3-4 second sometime 12-15 sec. And one more issue is the outside noise/exhaust note is also very less on action 4 while motovlogging. One more thing to ask you is when we connect the mic mini wirelessly can we also connect wired mic and get audio from both mic??? Thanks for the prompt reply👍🏻

Hehe. I wish. No you cannot do that, or at least I have not figured a way yet. I tried, in my mind this would have been an excellent feature to have. Also on the wired mic not picking up exhaust sound, which mic do you use? I use a really cheap one and I have the same issue but my co rider uses senheiser with the same cam and its good, better than what his hero10 could churn out with an equally priced mic + media mod. Nevertheless, no such issues with the mic mini, it can very well pickup your voice and exhaust perfectly fine. Note I didn't process output for this video, but when I did it for my own reference, the output was much better (IMO).
