Jon’s heart is pure and I believe that Drogan can sense that part of him so strongly (I think another reason why he didn’t burn Jon up after what Jon did to Daenerys)… Drogan could also possibly sense that the Three Eyed Raven may want to get in Jon’s head and Drogan may have the ability to shield Jon from that. Ya know, I was also thinking that the Three Eyed Raven chose Bran because he knew that in the end, it might be hard for Jon to kill him because Jon would be seeing the face of his little brother…. The Night King transferred his energy and took over Bran when Arya killed him. It was his plan all along to become human again. The Night King marking Bran makes me believe this is true. The mark was not only meant to track Bran but to transfer his energy to Bran and potentially become the vessel of Bran. The Night King only needs to touch a human like Craster's babies to make them White Walkers. My theory is that "Bran" now is the Three-Eyed Crow and the Night King simultaneously. He can manipulate the past, present, and future and has necromancer powers like the Night King. This makes him the ultimate villain. Another supporting idea is that Bran only cares about finding Drogon instead of being King and restoring the kingdom, and rebuilding King's Landing. Drogon is his kryptonite, so he is only worried about him. Since Bran is "human" again and not a White Walker Drogon can now compete against him. Bran also now possesses the same smirk the Night King had when he tells Jon he was exactly where he needed to be and when the council calls him King when leaving the first council meeting. He also displays the same smirk when he says "Why would I have come all this way" when they name him King. Jon finds proof that Bran is the villain when he goes North and will eventually reunite with Drogon. Some people may ask why Bran didn’t have Jon killed. Bran still needs to save face with Sansa, Arya, Tyrion, Davos, etc., before enacting his plans. If Bran were to have Jon killed I believe he would lose all of his support to become King. Also, Jon became Azor Ahai when he stabbed Dany (Nissa Nissa) in the heart. Jon is now The Prince Who Was Promised and Drogon is Lightbringer. I don't believe the weapon that kills Nissa Nissa is necessarily Lightbringer. I believe Bran truly brings the Long Night from the heart of Westeros in King’s Landing instead of the North. The Battle of Winterfell was a ruse and the intention of that battle was for the Night King to become human again and be the vessel of Bran. The show's ending is not the actual ending of The Song of Ice and Fire. The last two books will mostly play out the same as the show but will carry on more where the show left off. You can say the show's ending was a cliffhanger to the actual ending of the books. The ending like you said is a showdown between Bran and Jon.
