This implementation seems to be broken currently. Viofo had implemented Over the Air updates then pulled it. Then after many requests implemented it again but it isn't reliably implemented. When it works it works great.

My not ideal workaround, disconnect the rear camera. I have raised this with 70mai, waiting on an solution. Using a 128GB 70mai card. Also happens with a SanDisk 128GB Extreme.

Thanks for the question. Each person will have their personal opinion. These things may factor in to your choice. Prices will be a huge factor in what many will consider. The A810-2 is cheaper. The A229 Pro have many features less 4G capable. Front camera video is similar on both with the A229 Pro palette closer to real colour. A810-2 has 4G capability in Australia however the A229 Pro has an excellent rear camera at 2K res. Both stand as good 4K dashcams. I will be posting a review of the A810-2 soon so stay tuned.

Thanks for your comment. After using this button for awhile I can honestly say it is a fantastic option. Some dash cam manufacturers don't offer anything like this which is surprising.

Thanks for watching the video. A script is a good idea but in this case it was a live demo and hasn't been done like this before. Doing a off camera run defeats the real time experience which I wanted others to see first hand. There is no efficient way to extract footage from a rideshare with this camera. I am 100% convinced. I wish I could get my money in 2 months of my life trying to figure this junk out

I'm surprised how disappointed you are with this Vantrue dash cam. I think it is the best dash cam for urber lyft etc drivers. When they introduce the 4G to complete it it will be even better. Nothing official re 4G at the moment. If you want help check out dashcamtalk.com and ask there.

Okay. I bought this exact camera because Google would not stop recommending it. I bought it and it's installed and I could not be any more unhappy. I cannot connect to the app and I cannot extract the footage. When I plug the camera into my laptop everything is in Chinese. The 500 GB SIM card lasted 2 weeks before it died. And I simply have no idea on how to record a ride share and then extract it.

Try at your own risk. I installed it, was not impressed and when I tried to go back to the official releases it bricked my rear camera. My advice, is to wait for the official release of 1.3.

@@LateralNW I am working with the dealer. They were very good at trying to troubleshoot via online chat but nothing worked so they issued an RMA. The cam is on its way to them for testing and possible replacement.

@@satishchennagoni I did , thanks. Yesterday I updated to the official release of 1.3 and all is well. Using beta firmware comes with risks so I cannot fault Viofo. I am grateful for my dealer’s customer service. Another user had the same problem and Viofo sent him a replacement. So good service all round.

Not officially released yet (11-June-24). This firmware is beta which is still being tested. Once they sort out the features and fine tuning, Viofo will place it on their website for everyone. Thanks for the question.

Update:23 May 2024. Viofo has released a beta release of firmware that does allow control of the interior camera. Eventually this firmware will be released in their official web site. In the current release of the firmware there isn't the option to turn off the interior camera however it is very easy to unplug the earphone type plug and the camera will adjust to the new configuration. The latest Viofo app update for ios means you no longer need to turn off LTE/4G to view live view from the dash cam. Viofo said they would fix it and they have. Great to see they listen to their customers.

Thanks for the comment. I agree it looks a bit too sharp. (Detail or Sharpness). There is currently no option to alter this in the App. I expect it will be address in a firmware release. Viofo updates their firmware often so I expect in a future release they will improve this. Please note this unit is a pre-release model. Cheers.

I bought the 2 ch version. I am pretty happy with this but there are some bad things. The power plug should be on the camera body not on the gps, in this way you can not move the camera to another car, pr you can not power up the camera at home on the pc for example. The rear camera have lots of reflection. Cables are very bulky, the rear camera should have L shape plug. Voice commands are working only with your stereo off, if you have stereo on and listen some music it will be almost impossible to use voice commands. Boot starting it is little bit longer even if you setup off it will take about 30 seconds to start recording. The front camera it is really big compared with the other viofo, also the static pads for front camera are not working because of the camera weight. It my case the camera fell with that sticker and I had to use my own double side tape. The image quality it is great but you will not see too many license plates in motion, only some very close. Hdr need to be on in the night, otherwise the headlights light it will ruin the whole image and you will not see the plates in front of you.

So sorry to hear that you are not really satisfied with A229 Pro. 1. The rear port on the camera can also be used as a power port, so you can also take it home to connect the camera to your PC. 2. Yes, the rear cables are not thin as coaxial cables. But it will increase the cost if the coaxial cables are used because they need individual chips to support. 3. The A229 Pro is real 4K camera with screen, it will need more power consumoption and time to turn on completely. 4.Before sticking the static stickers, you'd better clean the windshield with an alcohol cloth to guarantee there is no dirt on it. Then it can be stuck tightly enough.

Voice commands are working only with your stereo off, if you have stereo on and listen some music it will be almost impossible to use voice commands. >>>>>> That is true with everything not only the cam...Try using your phone. It's the same thing......

It is wifi button, not the mic button you are pressing to disable/enable the IR lights actually.😀

0:46 have a closer look and you'll find it is actually the Mic button. This was to help Viofo identify a glitch in the software. Later for comparison I also press the wifi button which is the correct button usually pressed. Thanks for your comment.

Unfortunately I can't speak Spanish but I have created a transcript with time stamps. If the text is copied and then paste into a text to speech converter it will read it out in the language that is chosen. Espero que esto ayude

What am I doing wrong. I have the little green indicator light on the n5 front screen and rear screen camera but within 1 min of driving I can’t see nothing on the screen. If I push the orange on button on the left side where the sd card goes it powers up and then 1-2 mins later it goes back to the black screen. I’ve hard wired it in via the fuse box under the steering wheel of my Skoda Fabia mk3

Check your hardwired kit is wired correctly. Some circuits in the car may power down once the car is running. Every car is different and so is the hardwire kits.

Try to adjust the recording bitrate to 60hrz to avoid the flickering and/or adjust the exposure value gradually till you get clear recordings. Please note, street lights have different light waves.

Thanks for your input. You raise a good point. Note one dash cam doesn't flicker but they are from the same manufacturer and both are set with the same settings. The firmware on the T130 was in final release stage and was not being sold at that point. The problem was reduced with later versions of firmware.

You forgot I'm only human:). It has a little thing that set over the top where you put the butter in. It has a little handle so it seemed (at the time) that once the butter melted you just tip it onto the corn before they started popping lol. We live, and some of us learn. 😇

Different design ie Cylinder shape first of its kind for Viofo. This is a 3 camera Dashcam that hasn't been released yet. 1440 res front cam, interior 1080 with Infrared LEDs suitable for Uber etc, and rear camera also 1080. Similar unit by Viofo is the A139. I believe this will have a lower purchase price then the A139 but not confirmed.

@@randomfootages9120 I have tested other devices for Viofo and they invited me to test this model. They supply it without any strings attached. What they do want is feedback while the unit is being used in real world situations. You can apply on their website to be considered for testing their equipment. Not everyone is selected however.
