Huggies little snugglers and Huggies little movers sound like good options for blowouts if you need to use disposable diapers.

This is great information! I just put my diapers away a few months ago in plastic bins. I'm going to switch them over to cubes.

I wonder if pinesol is as effective at disinfecting as bleach because I think it's gentler.

Id say buy 3-4 covers and some flats or prefolds on a budget(just a days worth) and wash more often then add more as you can afford to. No need to buy them all at first but a days worth of a cheaper style will help you more than buying two pockets while still needing to buy disposables. Not saying dont buy pockets but start cheaper to save you from having to buy both simultaneously and you can build a stash a bit cheaper by not needing the disposables or not needing very many of them.

Meant a bit quicker not cheaper sorry

We used 20 a day on my kids at first. They like to be dry and poop a lot more at first lol. I bought 36 prefolds in newborn and broke into the 2 dozen smalls when we ran out so rotated through 5 dozen. She was a preemie so they were pretty dry to the touch but wet or dirty enough to make her uncomfortable. I suggest buying the preemie size if you have a small baby though i regret trying to fit her in the huge ones for so long. I didnt use cloth on my son until 6 months because i got one sized and they didnt fit. Pregnant with the 3rd and absolutely getting something smaller this time.

The fit of duos is what made me fall in love with Thirsties. Above all other diapers they give the best fit for both my kids consistently. I also fell in love with their sized covers their natural pockets with double gussets and I absolutely love their 🪝 & 🔁!

I used cloth diapers with my daughter and she was always getting her pants or shorts wet. When she would pee, the elastic would get wet and therefore wet her pants. I tried everything, changing often, added more padding, adjusted the diaper. Nothing worked. oh and also, they would be so bulky that her clothes wouldn't fit for as long as they should have and the elastic would leave marks, if I loosened it there would be gaps. I used Thirsties by the way. With my son I used disposables and no leaks, easy to adjust and no bulk and his clothes look and fit better. Also no marks and so much softer and comfortable for baby.

How often should we wash cloth diapers, like everyday or keep dirty diapers aside and wash once a week? Also, Should we clean poop immediately or can keep in my laundary basket to clean later before prewash?
@Als1822 Жыл бұрын
depends on your stash. Personally I washed every 2-4 days. And always pre rinse poop but throw pee diapers in the bag

Have you tried shopping at some of our smaller relators? They often have prints we no longer carry on our website. Our Facebook group is great place to get the scoop on which retailers carry hard to find prints and colors: facebook.com/groups/thirstiesgroupies

Great tips! I started cloth diapering with 8 covers (mostly size 1 Duo's) & a mix of 30 cheap flats & floursack towels. Now I am cloth diapering 2 (3y & 18m) with about 10 pockets, 20 covers (size 2 Duo's), 20 flats, 40 Duo inserts, & a handful of boosters.

Love this! And just here to vouch for the outlet. I had some hand-me-downs to start out with but the waterproofing was compromised on many of them. I replaced them with pockets from the outlet store for less than $300! I just did the math and a full stash would cost $480. Most families would spend much on disposables in 5 months!

Several years ago, I switched to cloth tp (as I call it). Never looked back. I cut up my husband's worn-out, old, white T shirts & underwear. Jersey is soft & it doesn't fray....so, no sewing, serging or pinking shears needed. I just put them in a clothespin bag which I hang in both bathrooms. Used cloths are tossed into flip-top wastecans that have a bucket liner. When I do a load of light color laundry, I just dump the bucket contents in. I don't have any water in the buckets, no essential oils or anything & have never had an odor issue. My system is very quick, easy, streamlined & works great! I got a kick out of your reaction the first time you tried the hand-held sprayer ! LOL Cute. Oh...one thing I noticed quickly after I started using cloth tp for #1....we didn't need to buy tp nearly as often!

I cloth diapered my babies while living in apartments. With my first we used a diaper service. With my second I used the coin op machines in the shared laundry room (after doing a first wash in a bucket with plunger). With my third we finally had a washing machine in our apartment! 💜 Heidi
