"Since you are an expert in butterfly slingshot shooting, in your opinion, what are the top three bands brands that are best for butterfly shooting? And what thickness would be suitable for 6mm or 8mm ammo?"
@backyardslingshots5631
@backyardslingshots5631 Күн бұрын
@@ConfusedBuffalo-bz5dl as far as brands. I’ve come to like precise mainly and sumieke. Mainly for the reason, while at full draw, they rip,Not snap when they are about to break. As far as a thickness, you’d have to play around and find what you’re wanting, but for 6mm I’d start at .40 most likely a 12mm-8mm taper, or a 14mm-10mm to use both ammo sizes. For 8mm .45-.5 thick with a 16mm-10mm. I’ve come to like 16-10 for target shooting. If you’re wanting to hunt, I wouldn’t know. But I’d up the taper by at least 2mm on both ends. Thank you for saying I’m an expert, I like to think I’m more an advanced shooter, sharing what I’ve learned from making mistakes, so other won’t make them.

Thanks to Chukin Steel and you l started shooting butterfly style. I got a chrony and checked the speed of all the thick and thin bands l have. 1mm GZK was sending a .457 lead ball at about 150 fps but Sniper Sling green .5mm at full butterfly sends 9.5mm steel balls around 300 fps, 11mm steel and 10mm lead at about 245 to 250fps and 12.5mm steel at about 210 fps. Switching to the thinner bands now.
