Great work! I've never seen that Dasco Shingle Ripper before; looks like it's discontinued. Doing a pretty big cedar shake job and although I haven't needed to pull out any... I know it's just a matter of time 😅

How much did the roller cost?
@NightRider023 ай бұрын
I command you for doing such a back breaking job. But from financial point of view. You said you did it for $4000 (half price of the contractor’s price). Does this include the old roller and the tractor you are using ? I thinking has been that if I pay the contract fee grand more it saves me and several family members back breaking work. Plus I can spend that time making money at my regular work. Plus I get a better quality work than if I was to do it.

But you would miss out on the quality family memory making. This is an experience they will remember for the rest of their lives.

Our driveway is 10' wide by 780' long. In 2018 I got a quote of $30,000 to redo our existing asphalt driveway. In 2024 that quote jumped to $90,000. Yeah, F-that. I'll be doing it myself. Even if I have to work in sections.

Hello. I bring planning for driveways, SO one'd have a clear, good looking, planned shape for the asphalt, concrete, bricks or whatever material a customer would prefer. So a plan is first produced. (Where you're able to see the output driveway before hand, specifying all the dimensions aspects for a driveway. God give gift people. Here to stay

I was thinking of doing it myself. My job would be smaller 30x12. Does the smaller tamper compact the asphalt well enough?

it would be kind of cool if you added markings even though it’s pointless

And the asphalt contractor that originally wanted to do this job is a greedy swindler. They did a better job on their own and saved about 4 grand. The money they saved can be invested in the stock market now to make even more money. He is smart. You are a 🤡

$8k US for that driveway is cheap. I got a quote £15k British and my driveway is not even half the size of yours to convert to US dollars is nearly $20k 🤣
