As an non-binary person and an IT student, the last video made me happy

That TikTok with Mulan's song transported me back to when I was 17 watching Mulan for the first time. That whole movie, and especially that song, hit me so hard in ways I couldn't understand at the time. I was the oldest "daughter" being raised in a Christian fundamentalist cult, which required all AFAB people to wear only skirts and dresses, which I hated. My abusive family was very homophobic and if they had known about trans people, I would've been raised in a s***ton of transphobia too. I was low-key arrange-married at 19 to a 20 year old man also raised in the cult by his parents. I left the cult almost 3 years later, he didn't like that and threatened to take me back there "for more brainwashing" (I kid you not, his *exact words).* I left him 3 weeks later and moved away from the area, we got divorced the next year. So... I'm non-binary and a bi-lesbian. I came out to my family as a lesbian via text, which went over great (sarcasm 🙄). I didn't even *bother* explaining the "bi-" part when I figured that out *or* that I'm non-binary, they at least understand woman x woman/man x man, they would *not* understand (or care to learn) about not-female-not-male person. So anyway, that part about not passing as a perfect bride or perfect daughter, been there, *tried that,* failed... and I've never been so happy to fail at something. I cut contact with my family a couple years ago, and it's done wonders for my mental health. Now when I look into the mirror, I just see myself. (Plus b o o b s)

I’ve just binged the first 4 seasons so I know the context of these clips and it seems that most either need no context for the joke - like the candlestick bit - or part of the humour in the show was because it was unexpected and was already meant to be weird - like Julian sitting in the bathroom with the hot tap running. No context needed although if you haven’t seen the show then any scene with “the one with no pants” will seem strange. Once you know he’s a ghost that permanently has no trousers then nothing more is needed. …i only watched a couple of mins. It would be pointless to watch 40mins of clips from a show Ive just watched. I may as well just go back and rewatch one of the better episodes.
