A couple of questions. What do these loaders cost? I talked to Paolo when this was still in the planning stages and was interested in maybe getting one but he never gave me a price or even estimate because ir was too early to know. Also since for the longest time I had not seen any videos of the model running, only the static model as he was building the first batch, I wondered when I would see a video of one running. Yours is the first video I've seen and though the model looks really nice, I find the amount of gear noise when it's running to be really distracting to the realism of the model, unlike the ScaleArt 963 which has no gear noise that I can detect. Do you think the model has maybe too much gear noise and it would be nicer if there was less noise?
@minidiggin
@minidiggin 5 ай бұрын
I 100% agree about the gear noise. I mentioned that to Paolo but he assured me it’s normal. And like you mentioned no other videos of the 973K to compare it to unfortunately. I am having another issue that is probably evident in my videos if you look for it and that is in reverse one track will not engage unless you move the stick input forward and backwards quickly. It’s also quite frustrating. Paolo is obviously willing to help me identify the issue but it requires tearing into the machine which I’m not quite ready to do yet. As far as pricing goes I unfortunately can’t answer that one either as I traded Paolo my old cumhurtech Volvo 355 excavator and attachments for it. You might reach out to him again for a build sheet with pricing. Other than the reverse issue and the gearbox noise it’s a tank of a loader and very capable. I love it.
@carterprovo1096
@carterprovo1096 5 ай бұрын
@@minidiggin Thanks for the quick reply! I will contact Paolo about the price. Just thought it would be quicker asking you. Paolo gets very busy sometime He implied the machine would be in the same price range as his excavator but that number is also unknown to me.!! Sometimes these builders don't like to give a price until they"re pretty sure they have a sale but there is no way I would spend this much money without seeing and hearing it run. Your videos show that the model is louder than I think it should be but maybe if you put a good sound system in it, the gear noise would be less noticable? Someone else will post another video of it so you will be able to compare noise levels. Normal doesn't mean it's good normal. Hurts the realism but maybe I could get used to it? I'll be curious also. Another option now is the Lesu 973 which looks good on the detail but is about half the weight so it won't push dirt like your 973. You can buy the Lesu in a kit or ready to run. Around $3300 for a kit and obviously more for a RTR. Don't know what I'll do. Tried to buy a used ScaleArt 963B a couple of years ago on Ebay for $3200 but it turned out to be a scam so I lost the full amount. Ebay said because I used a Bank of America wire transfer, they wouldn't cover the loss. That was a big hit to take!! I guess I was very naive . In my world , I think people will be honest but obviously I was wrong. Expensive lesson. Won't do that again!!!! Lastly, you stated that you were in Missouri somewhere. My family lived in University City and Clayton in the 50's before we moved to SF Bay area. Wish we had stayed in St Louis. Great Zoo and Forest Park.
@minidiggin
@minidiggin 5 ай бұрын
@@carterprovo1096 awesome! Yes I’m out west of St Louis near OFallon. Very sorry to hear about the SCAM that infuriates me, especially because it was such a big dollar amount and no recourse from eBay! I have seen the new LESU track loader and like you said pretty small in weight compared to the Mother. I can honestly say my experience with Paolo has been top notch and the equipment he builds is far better (IMO) than most of the other stuff on the market. My preference for this hobby is actually moving dirt, which both the mother machines do very very well. Obviously they aren’t up to par with the German machines for scale realism either aesthetics but again, that’s not necessarily my thing. I just want to move dirt :) anyways I really appreciate you watching. I can also reach out to Paolo and see if he will respond quickly about pricing.

Yeah I wound up selling the fumotec. In fact I should probably do a follow up to my comparison video between the two machines. I don’t want to knock the fumotec because it is a great machine, but the reality for me is that the fumotec blade popped out of the ball bearing within a few days of operating it, in pretty easy conditions. This cumhurtech I have never had an issue with other than the leaks on the blade cylinders, which so far I’m just living with. Will get fixed someday soon. So the cumhurtech stayed and the fumotec was sold

Hey @spiggen1018. Thanks for watching. As for pros and cons of the mother, honestly the only con I can think of is the weight, it’s a bit heavy for carrying around at like 95 lbs I think. Otherwise though I have no complaints. It’s a very strong and reliable machine that digs very well. I had one valve block servo go out on my old green mother and one go out on my new(used) yellow one that I have now. These were pretty easy to replace and Paolo who makes the Mother machines is very great to work with. I also had a turntable pin go out on the older green mother which was very easy to replace as well. It was kind of like a shear pin to prevent other things from breaking. Overall it’s an amazing machine that I think it probably the best 1/14 excavator for digging.
