@@djo75_MN What a shame. I looked but didn't find anything else. As you probably know,there are so many like her with talent that didn't pursue their music any further.I spend a lot of time searching for tunes like hers. I don't care for today's music, except some coming out of Texas.I get much more pleasure from artists like her than from the "stars" who are popular today. Thank you for your response. I'm listening in!

I often like country music recordings that are adventurously different than the traditionally structured ones , although of course they too are often great . The above featured Bill Laundy track is an excellent example of a country music recording that is refreshingly untypical yet resonates favorably .

Bears an uncanny vocal likeness to one of Canada's most celebrated pop icons of the late 50's and early 60's , Bobby Curtola . Have a listen to his engaging hit , Fortune Teller and some of his other fine recordings and you'll know what I mean . If I hadn't seen the visuals accompanying the above recording , I woulda sworn it was Curtola !
@djo75_MN26 күн бұрын
Not out of the realm of possibility that this is Bobby Curtola. Record labels often issued records using a pseudonymn, though It was more common during the 1920s and 30s. Wouldn't be surprised if this is him, but we may never know.
@colinpurssey987526 күн бұрын
@@djo75_MN Thanks for that info . And now my inkling that it may indeed be Bobby Curtola is fortified because after writing my last comment here , I listened for the first time to the flip side , "All I Need Is You" , which you've also kindly uploaded , and I was intrigued when I heard the very first lyric line which went - "I don't need a FORTUNE TELLER ..." .Now maybe I'm drawing a long bow , so to speak , but plenty of artists have made references or allusions to the themes of their successful recordings in subsequent ones or sequels . And of course , as I referenced in my earlier comment , Curtola had Fortune Teller , his first big hit , which propelled his artistic career . I'm now thinking it is him !

I don't know what era this was recorded but despite the poor sound quality of THIS particular recording, it's obvious Ronnie had genuine talent as a vocalist. He does a great job to make this an appealing recording...which should have charted IF it didn't !

Really classy production . And although I'm pretty sure it never charted , it is better than some other recordings that did chart . Again , this just goes to show that the quality of a recording is often unrelated to whether it is a commercial success or not .
