2019: I was in Wal-Mart shopping when I had a chance encounter with a beautiful, lovely, elderly, Russian woman named Anna (grandma Anna). She was riding her scooter and had almost run into me. She then asked me to hand her an item off the shelf, not acknowledging what happened. Because she was adorable it left me unable to know how to feel. Her demeanor came off as if she could have been famous, like older Hollywood, and it added to me liking her since I love that era. I didn't want to miss the opportunity to meet her by being angry, so I initiated a conversation with her to find out more about her. She told me she was not famous, and I quickly learned she was actually warm and very friendly. By this point, I had forgotten why I was shopping and was enjoying just talking to her, so I decided to stay in the moment, it felt special since it was random. We were strangers, but I thought it was cool having a Russian grandma for a moment. There were no set topics or on politics, just friendly. I told her I knew very little about her people and motherland, and what I did know was negative. I asked her to tell me something positive and beautiful about her people, and she did. Things like the citizens, food, culture, places, art, things like that. Was wonderful learning about them from her perspective and not only the negativity I heard about them. There were no cultural differences, or language barriers. She spoke her lingo and vice-versa, and we understood each other just fine. At one point, she dropped a gem, or knowledge, while we were talking about music. We were in agreement that older music sounded better. But it was when she said that music was a powerful teaching tool that things changed. When she said it, it was in a way like only grandma could do. She looked at me, in a stern way, as if she wanted me to remember what she said, without using any words. It was enough to make me notice it and pay attention and not overlook it. Her being Russian made no difference to me. I only saw/knew grandma said to remember something, so I did. I knew to take heed even without knowing why. I'm always asking questions when I don't understand things, but I honestly can't explain why I didn't ask her to go further into it. It was just understood and I felt I didn't need to for some reason. We only met that once, exchanged no information, and parted ways. But she left a lasting impression on me. I've never forgotten grandma Anna's words, but also never needed to remember them until I was at the movies. Because it was when the questions began, seeing my sister and some other ladies oddly fixated on the screen. Me seeing messaging within film while everyone else seemed to seeing a different movie, that grandma Anna's warning about music came straight back to mind. And that's when all the questions I asked before that went unanswered, that I couldn't find answers for, started to make a picture in my mind. A political picture, that showed how Michelle will come using empowerment to swing the vote away from Trump. Many people today only think in terms of checkers only watching out for the kings. But many fail to realize those in high places actually prefer chess. Same board but totally different game mentally and strategically. In chess the queen can also make moves so it will be very important to watch what she does from here.❤✌🏿=♟️👈🏿👀
