i've had a stuck caliper a time or two, and its been my experience that if you can get it to compress completely you can possibly save it. usually, it sticks because its dry around the seal, then it gets rusty from outside sources, compressing it all the way lubricates the dry areas. however, if its stuck, its stuck. and sometimes you just have to replace it.

It really bothered me when you dumped out your drill bit drawer. You could have finished dumping out the dust and metal shavings. You cut away too fast and now I don’t know whether or not you put the drawer back with shavings still in it.

All that hassle for a tool that already exists for very cheap. I bought something very similar for like $3 a piece in 1/4 sqaure and hex drive (for bits), 3/8, and 1/2". They were cheap enough i bought one of each for a friend as well. The 1/4" hex is great for interior work like getting to an ac actuator behind the dash

so to change the oil a welder spare nuts grinder and hours so you charge 6000 for an oil change? you do know that for 3.99 you can get a new oil pan bolt with a magnetic end even. and those sockets work great you need to get the right size first and then a couple light taps to get onto bolt gets it removed great. and no welding knowledge needed for an oil change win win

Where did you get that engine basting "sucker blower" ? I know, I can look it up online but, by asking, I'm leaving a comment. That's a good thing. Isn't it ?

Many years ago, we had (I hope we still have), a guy around here who, rebuilds alternators and starters. He had a lot of bins (like bolts, nuts, washers bins at the hardware store) of diodes, rectifiers, brushes, voltage regulators. It was pretty amazing and, the price was more than reasonable. I always wanted to have, a remanufacturing business but, THEY purposely removed access to the parts, from the public. My reason for a little business was, for the guys who wanted to keep matching numbers, on their muscle cars.

Years ago, I was looking for a specific part, since it was easy to change. I found it online, but for a Mexican AutoZone. Still couldn't get it in the US, though. Company is US based, but yet we don't have access to all the parts that they sell inside their company. I don't understand why they can't just ship it from a main warehouse at an increased time frame since they are always moving parts around anyway.

We have a guy around here that does it but like you said, can't find any parts for the new starters or alternators. Years ago when you could still get rebuild kits for everything, me and my dad would alwayse rebuild starters and alternators. But it got to the point where the rebuild kits were almost the same price as an entire new starter/alternator

Our rebuilder got so expensive that it was cheaper to buy remanafactured at the parts store.😢 Shoulda been a parts guy I S'pose. ✌️ 🍩
