My Bad, Thanks for your correction. The shortcut for making selection in layers panel is Command / Control + Click. About that damaged edge effect, there are some explanations in my new video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZmnPp6trYt6eeassi=z0ENoOh4NnN_fcUH&t=159

@PhotoshopApprentice794 3 ай бұрын
@@Pixelogystudios Ok, I see your problem. There is a button with “three dots” at the bottom of the toolbar. That is for customize Toolbar. Open that panel, you can find all the tools. May be your "Slice tool" is in the right side "Extra Tools" section. Drag it to the left "Toolbar" section, and you can show your "Slice Tool" . You can also check my previous video about missing tools: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKaplJqOdp6jq6ssi=7V3u9rLcT0W6iuC7

I HAVE A QUESTION , why do u need to add a LAYER MASK to the adjustment layer here as there is NOTHING WE ARE MASKING HERE. whatever adjustment were needed to the image we did it with the help of adjustment layer, so why do we need to add a layer mask on the adjustment layer??? i didnt get the reason for it. dont we add a layer mask when something or a part of the LAYER or the main image needs to be masked or removed or hidden ???. if u can explain . thanks
@PhotoshopApprentice794

Very glad I can help. I think your confusion might be that a Layer Mask can apply on both “Image” and “Adjustment Layer”. In most cases, as you said, the adjustment layer is applied on the entire image. But sometimes, when we only want to adjust some area of the image, we will have to add a layer mask on this adjustment layer. Like in my video, I want to show my audiences before and after. So I use the “Adjustment Layer” + “Layer Mask”.

Please explain one point: After you applied retro look to your image by adjusting levels, you said you can compare before and after of the image by applying a layer mask. Then a large rectangle appeared on the screen and you were moving it horizontally to see the before and after results. I am unable to get how I can make that rectangle and move it to see the before and after results like you did? Update: Finally, I got it by trial and error. 1. We can see the before and after results simply by turning the adjustment layer visibility on and off. 2. "Alt + Left Click" the layer mask of adjustment layer, layer mask will open as white background. Make a rectangle shape on it. "Alt + Left Click" the layer mask again. Image will reappear. Now, "Ctrl + T" will make the rectangle visible and able to move on the layer mask to see before and after results as you did in the video.

Please allow me to explain why I use the layer mask instead of the layer visibility. (Clearly the layer visibility is an easy way) 1. Better Video Experience: If I screenshot the before and after by layer visibility. This clip will look like two images flashing. It is not “Exciting” as a layer mask that can show the before on the left and after on the right. 2. For The Thumbnail: The youtube thumbnail can only use one frame image like jpg or png. In order to show the viewer what levels adjustment can do, the left and right is a better option. And the same method in the video will also be more consistency. Hope this can help you. It is more about designing a better user experience rather than a simpler click.

Correction: For inversing the selection, the shortcut is "CTRL + Shift + I" and not simply "CTRL + I".

After you created a rectangular or any types of vector graphic. You can find "Fill" with a small color block in the option bar, which is just below the top menu. Open it, and you will find the very first block looks like a white squar with a red slash on it. This "color" is for transparent fill. It also works for the stroke.
