I've seen more expression on Bream's face than I've seen in any other classical guitarist! Bream doesn't put aside his personality. If he has to stick to the expression marks in the score then his true feeling comes out on his face. He has a cosmic, comedic cinematic charm almost like Sean Connery would have if 007 played the lute while going after Blofeld.

I believe that I upset someone a couple of months ago saying that I thought Bream was better than Williams.This is a mistake.Bream has always stated that in his opinion Williams was technically his superior Living in Spain for 50 years and from also the age of 13.inEngland I have voiced the opinion that Bream had more “pasión “ I still believe this.But I do not denigrate Williams.i have many discs.Also I’ve just watched both of them on an hour long wonderful duet.So please do not be upset by my opinion.Also when Williams gave up the classical guitar -Segovia of whom Williams was his star pupil.was devastated

Bream has a weird right hand position and yet his playing is so fluid and articulated, is just amazing!.

I think it’s because he also plays the lute (marvelously) and the hand position is between the typical way each is played.

Wow. It turns out John Williams is a human and makes mistakes once in a while. Who knew. He is still the master of technical perfection nevertheless, just listen to any of his other recordings.

I read the words of the Ten-String Guitar Channel, and I probably would never go to their channel because of what they said. All they're trying to do is listen to find errors. The first one at 00:24 was barely too early, in fact listen to the earlier ones, and I think the chord before might have been even earlier than the one at 00:24. And yes there was a pause until the next chord, but that doesn't mean he's trying to recover. The issue he (she) points out at 8:05 is also moot. The problem with his points is that his ego is coloring his views. You can feel it in the energy of his words. He's simply trying to chop down John William's reputation, for whatever sad reason. No one is perfect at every point in time. Even the people he suggests can play this song flawlessly, if we go around and around listening to performances, we're bound to find one with flaws in it from them too. So this is not about a fair consideration of the quality of John Williams. It's about nitpicking in a very small way.

I agree with You. Williams play this concert best. I hear many version. This one is oldest circa 1975 - 1980 year

John Williams is a fantastic guitarist and composer true but I think greatest ever is a slight exagération. Have you never heard Paco de Lucía play?

I am certainly no master, but it is because the ring ringer has a habit of producing a harsh tone. Pro's compensate for this by achieving a softer tone with technique.
