I love the stove. I bought one mostly for use during power out situations after a hurricane. I often cook dinner on it on the back patio. Amazingly effective and simple to use.

I wish there waa an easy way to seal the top of this stove which will enable me to turn thin logs into charcoal using this stove which in turn becomes high-energy fuel for this stove that can be stored for a long time. In any case bits of charcoal (not necessarily briquettes) is an excellent source of fuel for this stove.

Finally someone who knows how to properly use a rocket stove. You use a pot skirt! A pot skirt is part of the stove.

Groetjes Willem

This is the only channel that shows the proper way to fuel this stove. Everyone else puts way too much wood in the chamber.

Haha, wat een baas, patatje stoofvlees van de rocket stove. Ik zie je ergens die extra ring op de Ecozoom gebruiken, maakt dat veel uit, met of zonder? En dank voor de toffe video.

Weber employed some serious knuckle heads and the result is a BBQ gas grill with a propane tank on the side and out in the open. WOW! No security, no attention to cosmetic looks...

My apologies, the tank has a cover, it is on the grill now. Still enjoy using the grill. Thanks for watching, and your honest comments.

A cake pan with drilled air holes will also work as a heat diffuser.
@weatherstorms5 жыл бұрын
The heat diffuser not only protects the pot from soot but a sealed stove does allow the fire to burn hotter, and drier to where it's just about smokeless.

Thank you for this, this is very informative! Nothing wrong with the sound as far as I'm concerned. I have been looking for a way to cook using the Yeti 400 instead of gas, while on the road, with our 100 watt solar panel mounted on the roof of our car. So I think this would be great! I'm wondering if you've used it more often since this video, also if this dinner came out fully cooked? How long do you think it will take on "low", if you're only warming things up?
@solidfuelcooking61475 жыл бұрын
Yes I have indeed, I purchased a second bolder 50 so I can actually finish on solar power. Your 100 watts will do the same. Also great to warm up soup or sauce. thanks for watching !

How did the diffuser work out? Does it transfer the heat well? Did it take longer?
@solidfuelcooking61475 жыл бұрын
It does slow down the warming up, but worked great in the end. Almost no soot on my pan, and relaxed slow cooking. Using a bake form ring to redirect the airflow along the pan surface helps speed things up. The pressed charcoal brickets also take a little time to get going.
@johninwi39945 жыл бұрын
Nice idea to cut down on the soot. Gotta love Ecozoom. I have two of the Ecozoom Planchas with double burners. Works fantastic although way too heavy to be portable. Weighs about 70 to 80 pounds.

Hopefully they come up with a single burner plancha, would work for me 😄 Thanks for watching !
