@rayfrogger I am from the United States. In Nebraska, czech polkas and waltzes are pretty popular, which is mainly what I post. I have been trying to learn a couple of songs that originated from Slovakia, like Este som sa neoženil.

Yeah, he has helped me a lot. He has coordinated two of the Accordion Jams I have participated in.

I always thought every country had their own use of the accordion. Are there not events or people you may be able to talk to?

@@rylandprokopec sadly no, my country has ripped itself of tradition to follow a more modern and utopian lifestyle. few actually carry the tradition of the accordion and they dont really play alongside other accordions

@rayfrogger In general, I'm trying to learn my preferred genre by ear, which is polkas and waltzes. But every in a while, I come across a song I enjoy on KZbin and try to follow along. I play the video on repeat, trying to see which buttons they're pressing. I hope that answers your question? I genuinely have absolutely no prior music experience before the accordion, so I don't know a lot of the typical music vocabulary.

@rayfrogger I would have to learn Korobeiniki first. I've been wanting to for a while now but my accordion is a lot different from yours. While you can play in any key, I am limited to an accordion in BbEbAb. It's just the kind of accordion I use. It would be really fun to try something like this, I'm just not sure how it will work out.

I think I'd have to figure out how to play the bass correctly. 😅

It's funny you mention that😅! I know that it's not fully correct, but I can't quite jump around the bass side very well yet. I decided to do this as a shortcut. Eventually, I will try fixing it, but I have been working on other songs.
