I would call your dmv to make sure. But what I do know is that you have to still demonstrate that you're capable of doing a pretrip, parking maneuvers, and road test if they say you don't have to go to an accredited school.

I would recommend doing some research before you start. That way it's a little easier to transition. The last thing you want to be is hungry. I'm going to start a full channel for vegans soon so be on the lookout!

I don't think so to be honest. The desk and office wasn't for me. I still had the itch to just up and leave and make a little more money because I knew the option was there. Now had I sat down and learned the craft I think I could have eventually made more but it didn't happen that way.

@reegsgeer I mean you don't. You will get it eventually while in school in order to operate a commercial vehicle for training. You definitely can and should get it beforehand if you have the ability to do so. Once you take the ELDT training it doesn't matter if a school trains you or a private instructor.

They'll cut patches out your head and fuq up your head for a trucking job that going to take advantage of you for 400.00 to 500.00 a week after taxes. The recruiters will lie to you too over the phone so they can get paid commission and bonuses for you showing up to orientation. These mega carrier are the worst They'll pimp the shit out you for pennies. Its best to work for smaller trucking companies.

Apply to a company that has a CDL training program. Most companies will have you under contract for 😅12 months or 120,000 miles. This is what I did, you still get a paycheck every Friday. Another option would be get a state Grant and go to a trucking school. The other option would be take the written test get your learner's permit. Then after 30 days go back to the state testing site CMVD with your own commercial vehicle whether owned or rented and passed the test you have to pay like $500 or $600 to test.
