I disagee with this, the ibest way to know is to do an allergy test, not gaslight your patients. For example Patients with Dustmite allegeries can have a complex presentation, as exposure is not seasonal, but depends on how old bedding is, how frequently bedding is washed and humidity levels. The patient may not have pieced this all together, and depending what other allergies or sinus problems they have, their symptoms may seem to come and go without much rhythm. There can also be confounding factors that the patient has that maybe impacting their confidence, especially if they are a child as many new allergy patients are, or if they had poor access to health care in the past so as an adult they never had testing or sinus exam to diagnose their conditions. Also moving to a new area can cause allergy symptoms for someone that was allergy free, and they maybe doubting that that can happen. If the patient is in doubt and they've been suffering for more than a few weeks allergy testing can eliminate the doubt and clarify what treatments to try.

I had a PPO in 2024. I will be 64 in November, I have had an autoimmune disease and osteoarthritis since I was 18. I’ve had to have 19 bone. surgeries. So I have quite a few Drs. I had to retire on disability when I was 59. I can’t find an insurance that has my neurologist on the list. I’ve had 4 surgeries with him. He was on my insurance when I was working. It’s hard when you trust Drs that you can’t find on the list of Drs for any insurance I’ve looked for. One plan didn’t even have my primary care doctor I’ve had for over 20 years. The plan I had for 2024 had all my Drs except my neurologist and I need a surgery that I need a neurologist to do. But I can’t find a plan that has mine on it. What suggestions do you have

Reminder that once Rabies begins showing symptoms it is nearly 100% fatal. It will eat at your nervous system causing extreme anxiety, fear, and even rage until it consumes enough that your brain shuts down and you die. It is a terrible way to go, ALWAYS take animal bites seriously (including checking yourself for bites when you wake up as animals like bats can infect you without you noticing)

I am struggling to pick between psychiatry, internal medicine, and neurology. I know I want to practice in outpatient in the clinic. I am a nontraditional medical student. I also know I don't want to spend my day checking vitals, fluids, and other numbers. How would you go about deciding between the three specialties I mentioned? Also, background info: I am a licensed marriage and family therapist, finishing my doctoral in clinical psychology before I start my prerequisites and then trying to get into medical school. I want to know what I am getting into before investing my time and money. Thank you.

No need to decide now. Once you go to med school, you will have rotations in all those specialties. It will be more clear then which is for you hopefully.

Great video. Several additional points to maintain high Employee Retention. 1. Your company has to be successful and growing. No matter what efforts you make, failing companies cannot retain employees. 2. Have a strong company reputation. A company known for providing low quality services/products will lose employees, especially in this day of internet reviews. 3. You need to pay very well and offer financial incentives to retain employees. 4. You need to promote employees to leadership roles. 5. You need to possibly offer equity in your company. 6. You need to have employees work in the office and your office space has to be very cool/hip. 7. You must treat your employees with respect and kindness. 8. You must fire toxic employees immediately. 9. You need to over hire to factor in attrition. 10. Your company must have fun events, trips, activities, year end parties, etc. 11. You need to offer some free company benefits such as free food, excellent health care and retirement benefits. 12. You need to have regular one-on-one meetings with your staff to understand their happiness level at your company.

This is very true and it's me in an HMO through work. I recently had to change because my previous clinic went to a higher out of cost level. I'm starting at the bottom again and they make it impossible to opt out. It stinks.

It's not always a matter of choice it's about insurance dictates especially if you are in an HMO. My previous clinic got changed to a higher teir which meant higher out of picket. My choice of a lower tier clinic closest to me was the same clinic 3 different branch locations. That doesn't seem like a choice otherwise it's driving an hour or more to see a doctor. I'm very unhappy and have only gone to the established care visit which was mandated by the primary care clinic to get a referral if I ever needed one. I don't go to the doctor unless needed being I I don't have any chronic medical conditions. I also stopped doing preventative care after going through menopause. When I was doing yearly physicals it was with an Ob/Gyn who I went to for many years and was 2 hours away. When he stopped practicing I went once to my PCP so I could continue HRT. That was my last preventive care. When that was over I decided no more. I also have a distrust of medical care and insurance for justified reasons.
@karenmonson9893

So the choice you're talking about is non-existent especially if you're covered by an HMO. Mine is through work so I really don't have a choice.

Been in the manufacturing industry for 35 years. I’ve worked closely with everyone from welders, to engineers, to project managers, to presidents of companies, to CEOs. I have never, not once heard anybody say that being nice was a quality that made a good leader in business. It’s a favorable attribute to have, for sure, but there are a lot more qualities far more important than being nice if you want to lead.

I recently had to switch primary care clinics due to insurance provider coverage. What I objected to was the mandated Established care visit I was required to make which wasn't fully explained to me on my many phone calls or by my insurance company when I talked to them. When I called them on it I was ghosted. As far as my established care visit the questions I was asked because of my age were humiliating, dehumanizing, and intrusive. I've never had to do anything like this before and I won't do it again. I don't see a doctor all that often being I have no chronic illnesses or conditions. I don't do preventative care and only come in when need be. I've come to the conclusion I'm not the "cash cow" they are looking for. And you wonder why people don't trust or like the medical profession in general.

It's not that people don't want to give their animals two or $300 shots most people can't afford that. The same reason why a lot of people can't take their animals to the vet when they see problems that arent life-threatening. If they made vet care more affordable for people or more vets did things like payment plans then we would be able to help our animals. But most vet visits will run you $30 or more to even get a consultation if you can't find some kind of pet insurance that they accept. And a lot of places don't even accept pet insurance at all. They expect people to fork out hundreds of dollars out of pocket or they have to watch their pet slowly die.

It's not practical to wait until you have an appointment because it can take several months to get your appointment. Inadvertently, by accident, your saying that it can take a year or more to find a doctor. I'm currently looking for doctor#3.. I don't appreciate being gaslit and it's pretty much the rule instead of the exception
