That looks shocking especially at your front entrance of your home 😭 appalling workmanship at best. Also with the amount you paid for those premixed bags you could have nearly paid a pro to do it.

How much would you charge for this?

I’m not a carpenter, but none of the timber should be sitting directly on the concrete. Water will get get under the deck and will rot.

None of its sitting on the concrete. He is using versi Jack's to hold up the joists

@@cleat2526 the outside 2x6 joists are sitting directly on concrete. These are not even pressure treated. Will failed in a couple of years.

Turned our really nice. I bet it was a pain to get those underlip form boards off? I usually tape a piece of 1/4inch styrofoam to my underlip bpard. Makes stripping easier. Great job though

Nice job ,but that cut board lets it down ,should of measured the board spacings then cut the sub frame to fit

Correct. Good work to only be ruined by having the ripped board in plain sight. Should have started from the outside and ripped the last board close to the house wall.

Thanks for sharing! I’m thinking to do this on top of our backyard patio. The spacers on some of the joists i think protects it from directly sitting on water. And a coat of water resistant paint may help also. This could work in our Arizona weather as it doesn’t rain here that often

Looks amazing! Only 1 question; what about dirt, debris and water going down between the boards?
