Back in 62 my dad bought a brand new one. I was 1yr old. The car was riddled with problems and Idk where they sold them here in the States but he couldn't find anyone that knew how to work on them. It caught A minor fire and he sold it cheap to an uncle that fixed it. He didn't keep it long.

My first car. It had a crank socket. My favorite feature was the sign in the glove box that said "Check oil each morning or each 250 miles". They weren't kidding. We couldn't set the timing properly; if you tightened the bolt that held the distributor in place, it would crack the water pump. It finally rolled down our driveway - flew across the street and wrapped itself around a tree. Shoved the engine into the rear seat, and bent the frame. Didn't break a piece of glass or plastic in the car, since they were evidently stronger than the metal parts.

Your Dauphine's so adorable, even without eyes.I want to adopt it like a kitten, puppy or rabbit. My first car was my mom's handed down Peugeot 505.Great car,I named it Pepe Le Pew because it was a stinky French built diesel.

They were great in snow but the engines were terrible. Very good looking car for that era. I did get 40 miles to the gallon in 1961.

Does the Welte-Mignon reproducing system work? It would be great to hear a Welte roll on this piano, as that is the type of roll it is supposed to play.
