Bro we need more control over our investments. We could be receiving dividends on top of the stocks that were investing into when we retire, which will increase the money we bring home per month when we retire. Why won’t the union let us decide what we want to invest in with the money that we put into our retirement, I’m about ready to retire and the money that I’m getting now is insufficient because of inflation, etc. now that I’m educating myself on finances this problem should’ve never even occurred. The union needs to teach us more about financial education on top of working like a dog for.Society. Let me know what your brothers think.

i was union carpenter and as apprentice i struggled screwing off the drywall.,,...but my journeyman buddy had lotta patience with me and in 4 years ive gotten better. I started late as being a apprentice carpenter and i journeyed out with local 1319. If i was with non-union they would have gotten rid of me the first day on the job. Im thankful for the carpenters union i got the experience in metal stud framing and drywall.

Can you help me find an apprenticeship in MN?
@brucequinn7507 Жыл бұрын
ABSOLUTELY!!! I’m now a retired carpenter, and, am happy to report I’ve never encountered better instruction, or higher quality instructors than that which I experienced at The Carpenter Training Facility in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. “Career-wise”, joining the Carpenter’s Union was the best career move I ever made; I “kid you not”!!! After high school, I attended and graduated from college, worked for several corporations, completed “professional development certifications”, as well as completion of some graduate level University work. In addition to completion of union carpenter apprenticeship, I enjoyed participation in MANY ongoing professional development Carpenter training/instruction courses at Chicagoland’s training centers. Simply put, the abilities and QUALITY of instruction provided by the Carpenter’s training instructor’s at Chicagoland’s carpenter training centers, consistently ALWAYS was clearly/noticeably superior to much University level instruction I had received over the years. Really! Instructional excellence is assured by “cutting-edge” programs like the Carpenters Union’s Train The Trainers“ program in Las Vegas, NV. In addition to the knowledge and professional expertise of the instructors, I was overwhelmed by the actual teaching, and the gifted instructional abilities of our instructors; nearly always clearly superior to college and university level PhD’s. Midwest, regional carpenters, taking advantage of “professional development training” with our Union, are Guaranteed to succeed!!!

How about doing something more for the retirees? Those are the ones that truly paved the way for the union strength today. Prices rising for retirees too! Please don’t forget about them.

No job security …great carpenters get laid off all the time!!!! The union has some much propaganda …even if u don’t meet the hour to get insurance they still took out all that money from ur benefits
@MayhemGamingPC Жыл бұрын
There's no job security anywhere. If you're getting laid off all the time, you're in an area that has no work, you're a lazy worker, or your local union has priced you guys too high (due to MEMBER votes)
@Napo3602 жыл бұрын
You’re always going to see apprentices that shouldn’t be the case why do we keep taking in apprentices to satisfy companies so they can keep paying low wages been a member for over 10 years I know the scam they don’t wanna pay journeyman to stuff bats of insulation or pay journeyman scale to open a box 📦 and pull out furniture downtown Chicago this 💩 is a scam if you don’t get vested meaning if you don’t put in five years you lose your contributions tell them the truth Gary u bum bish
