hello ,im still getting to grips with on shape and i came across your vid while trying to find a way to make multi curved body penals by using points,and oh boy this for me is a game changer and well explained ,so thankyou sir for that,but can i ask how to get hold of your own curve analisis script at 34.26 ,as i would like to see some past work i done using projected curves ,and would love to clean then up if poss ,as you say for future proofing as the workflow deepens.thx again phil from uk

In all honesty, I probably learned more in the first 5 minutes of this tutorial than I have I the last 6 months of trying on my own. And I love the way that when you clicked on a surface, for example, you drew a square or a circle around it so we weren’t left sitting here trying to figure it out on our own. And thank you for going over those keyboard shortcuts in the beginning, I think those are going to come in handy a lot.

How do you add the guides? You start when they are already there which helps no one that doesn't know how to add them.

It's very helpful and very frustrating at the same time. As a beginner, I wish every keypress would show up on screen. I think I must rewind 50-60 times in 1 video.

I agree this is quite the trick, but also think OnShape ought to support something like a multi jointed robot arm moving without resorting to this type of hack. Ideally OnShape would not only allow you to animate multiple things, but also it should include assembly physics and collisions detection.

So here's my problem: I have one part that's poking through another part, like your mug handle, but when I use 'delete face,' it gets rid of the entire face of the entire part that's poking through. There is not a visible line at the intersection of the two parts, as there is in your example, which seems to be the problem, but I don't know why that is, or how to fix it. Any chance you can help?

As a former pdm administrator, I really enjoy how easily it is to manage the system as a whole, if I need to make big changes to workflows and properties, even ones currently in flight, I don’t need to send a mass email to my entire user base that I need to restart the pdm server or to re-release things just because of the software.

I followed this tutorial to the letter and got a great looking bolt. However, I can't get the Boolean tool to cut threads in mating parts without throwing an error when I try to offset the surfaces. What step could I have missed that would cause such an error?

when will we be able to add variable studios in configurations? I don't just want to change a few local variables from one configuration to the other, I want to change the values of global variables (in variable studio) based on the configuration.

Not sure if Onshape has changed but there is no helix tool option even after searching for it
@benallums48725 күн бұрын
I had the same problem, but just found it. Onshape will not let you search for it while you are in a Sketch. Close the Sketch and you should see it on the toolbar, or you can then search for Helix.

@@bnorick I second this request! I don't think Onshape quite know how good of a thing they're sitting on to be honest. Onshape is quite simply the easist CAD to learn out of all the big boys. I'd sign up for life if there was a cost effective entry point for the small players, and I reckon there'd be plenty more like me out there prepared to do same.

I found your video and I hope you can help. I import parts into Onshape and they often come in as meshes. But how do I convert a mesh part to an editable sketch part? I can't do anything with a mesh in Onshape, it's just a bunch of triangles. What am I missing? I'm just a beginner, but don't even know how to ask the question correctly. Thanks.

If you mean that their tutorials suck and in the same way for a long time I 100% agree. Onshape certainly isn't catering to anyone who isn't an advanced CAD designer. It actually makes me a little mad that onshape thinks that these type of tutorials are worthwhile when in fact they end up wasting most peoples time. 😑
