Before watching, I did this myself. I'm a newbie so it literaly took me hours, but I got it done. Most of the time was spent researching how the features work. I started by making the flat face, then added the dome. Then I made the bolt holes, followed by the clearances. Finally I cut the dome to make the handle. For both the clearances and the handle I used the subtract feature. After watching this demo, I see how much simpler the whole process can be. I also appreciate all the hints and suggestions (like naming the features) Thanks a million. I know I'll be following your tutorials as I continue to learn. One question. Reading the drawings is pretty clear to me for the most part, but I don't understand everything. Is there a reference I can use that explains all the symbols and annotations? Liked and subscribed.

So amazing to see young inventors finding a need and building a solution! The deaf/blind community will certainly benefit from the T1.

I attempted to model a Dune Buggy with 3d split splines and sweeps and it kinda sucked. Thank goodness you guys made a tool just for this task. ❤

I'm lost at the start, what are the key presses or mouse clicks? You don't explain the "features" you're using. I never get that pencil context box and the building the square from the centre out, I can only build from the origin, certainly not mirrored like that. A keyboard ocverlay would be super beneficial if you're not going to explain it

Composite curve is a convoluted way of making a saved selection. You have a select tool why not make it so you can just easily save a selection of things that you group ??

Great video, In a real bearing we need clearances. How would this be achieved?

Im confused on how he was able to do 36 degrees by inputing 360/5/2. I get that 360/10 is 36, equal to 360/5/2 cus 5*2=10. But he must be really smart or have prior knowledge and its second nature!
@harrietjameson2 күн бұрын
360 is the degrees in a circle, divide by 5 to get the angles in a pentagon, then divide by 2 to get half of that (so halfway between one side and another)

Another way i found that at least in model (i havent printed yet) is to create the bolt and the nut and then boolean subtract the bolt from the nut and then just go back and adjust the sketch for the thread geometry on the bolt its self. Update: Better yet, there is now a thread creator feature script!

Wow what a great experience learning from you, I did follow you step by step and I did everything correctly except the piston rod length which is a bit longer and touches the wheel.
