Insightful, thank you. I'm a turn coordinator, a/g and dispatch for the bag runners at PHX, like you I came from a small airport in SRQ. So much to learn in a hub, growing pains.... today was a huge setback, I'm monitoring FLM....bags aren't being loaded, what it appear that they weren't doing their job, really was that the scanners weren't working or sending the numbers prior to pushbacks ,etc. ops coordinator wondering why aren't you communicating with them to find out.. Sometimes you just have to have faith that ramp personnel , while being stretched all over , it will all come together....I learned it's never easy. But the experience is going well, crossing my fingers to get to the next level and be router for a OCC. Anyway, I enjoyed your video. thank you

Have you approached it in a more compartmentalized way? How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. Exert less energy thinking about the total and shift to small bits.

Coffee has been on my mind a lot regarding the word "need." Any thoughts on caffeine consumption?
@timdavis7845
@timdavis7845 29 күн бұрын
@@RichHebron I personally consume caffeine on a limited basis. I like ONE really good cup of coffee in the morning (freshly-ground Ethiopian or Ugandan, medium roasted beans) OR a nice cup of Assam black tea from India. I very rarely have more than one cup of anything with caffeine. I NEVER drink softdrinks nor energy drinks. Once in a while I might drink a Yerba Mate or Kombucha.

@@timdavis7845 I appreciate the feedback. I've been feeling caffeine has played too big a dependent role in my life. Thought to eliminate afternoon caffeine after July 4th but marinating on it the last few days, I'm going to experiment with 30 days no caffeine and observe the results. What does my baseline feel like again? Did 10 days cold turkey in 2018 and went crazy the first 3 days. Really aware of the Fear of not having coffee around.
@timdavis7845
@timdavis7845 29 күн бұрын
@@RichHebron If you wish to "cut off" your caffeine consumption totally, I recommend that you wean yourself off of it gradually and not "cold turkey". If you suddenly stop all caffeine, you can expect withdraw symptoms like crushing headaches, listlessness, and irritability. If you gradually cut down your caffeine consumption this will not happen. Also remember, that there are some health benefits to drinking coffee, black tea and green tea - as they all contain some healthful compounds when taken in moderation. Good luck!
@RichHebron
@RichHebron 26 күн бұрын
@@timdavis7845 Thought about your comment. Gradual is not my style. lol I've built a two-week runway in my schedule to handle withdrawal symptoms. Most of all, I'm energized to observe results for 30 days no caffeine experiment. The curiosity of the potential observations motivates me.

I dont know, not tracking it relieves the mental burden of thinking about how you want to change and feeling frustrated that you haven't which leaves you fixating on what you shouldn't do, which leads to engaging in said thing. For instance when you try to lose weight, constantly fixating on how you don't like how your rolls look will only make you think about the foods you shouldn't be eating. And when you think about a food long enough, you will start to crave it even more. And when you just think about other things, like going to the mall or watching a show or just going about your day, you distract yourself from the thought of overeating and then you don't. Plus the mental reward will be better because the change in results will be more apparent when you don't look at it every second of everyday. If you look at a plant everyday, it doesn't grow. When you hide the plant out of view and look at it after a week, surprisingly it has.

As someone who grew up playing football & with not much NBA around me, I've recently found myself a big fan of the NBA as well, and I think this video touched on some great points why. The extremely low barrier to entry compared to baseball or the NFL: all you have to do is put the ball in the basket, and it's not nearly as hard for a beginner as say watching 22 people running around on a football field is. My biggest draw to it so far has been like you said, the personalities. It's so much easier to follow players when there's less than 20 on a team, and when they don't have helmets on all the time. I also really like how the smaller team sizes really allow for each players impact on the team to really show: there's not a lot of hiding one can do. The best part, IMO? Every position, every player on the floor gets to shine. There are role players, yes, but because there are only 5 people on the court per team, and EVERY position gets to touch the ball, each person has the same opportunity to be VISIBLE. In the NFL, so many positions are invisible and don't get any chance to shine unless they make an extremely rare play. But no one ever knows who the nose guard is, the left tackle, etc. In my short time of following and watching the NBA, the increased visibility of players, storylines, coaches, and personalities has allowed me to learn a great deal about team sports, personalities in life, what certain levels of success require, and many more valuable lessons,

It's interesting right? The upcoming media rights deals will reflect the increased popularity. It's a perfect sport for the internet and global audience. Visibility of players and ease of understand will help grow internationally. Great point on the "put the ball through the hole." Everyone can understand that-even children. Wonder if it has a similar simplicity in that sense to soccer: put the ball in the net. NBA is fun. Even the bad teams all have interesting aspects in regards to their futures and growth.
