Sorry but this is pretentious to the extreme, give me a cup of earl grey and a bicky
@PathofCha
@PathofCha 17 күн бұрын
sure:) To each his own. After all, it all depends on what you are looking for. If I just want a hot beverage on a cold day, or if I'm at a place where nothing better is available, I'll gladly drink Earl Grey. But when I'm looking for a practice, for a philosophy, for a lifestyle - I practice Gong Fu Cha. And, along with that, I'm not just having a quick "pick me up" or warming up before or after a long day. I'm actually blown away by the array of tastes and aromas that are there. So, to compare Earl Grey to Gong Fu Cha is like comparing McDonald's to a haute cuisine restaurant. Sure, haute cuisine may look pretentious to you, and you can say: give me a Big Mac and soda, and I'll be fine. And you won't be wrong. But still.

For me personally, this practice is about honoring our connection to all things and feeling deep appreciation for the elements of the earth coming together for us as sustenance. The tea in this culture is a master tool that helps to foster the daily, focused practice of gratitude, peace, humility and balance between all elements and between one another. I have started to question all of my daily habits and mindsets towards even the most mundane things, and this video helps me to think about what I wish to bring into my own daily life. We are all free to cultivate what we wish for within ourselves, which is a wonderful freedom.

Why do we also use the small saucer of the gaiwan when pouring? (What's the point?)
@PathofCha
@PathofCha 2 ай бұрын
You don't have to use the saucer (most people don't), but if you are just learning, gaiwan may be hard to operate at first because the body of the gaiwan gets hot, and it's easier to hold it with the help of the saucer. We have a video showing how to use gaiwan with and without a saucer: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pnScZIh_ep2erKc

This happened to me the other day, unwittingly, drinking high quality black assam tea from India, in the morning, on an empty stomach. It doesn't hurt my stomach. It was my day off, it was quiet and early in the morning, my mind was clear, and after 5 infusions, I went on a bike ride to buy home made tortillas from a small bakery. It was a beautiful day. I became elated, and upon arriving, I was so happy, secure, content, and it was a joy to talk with the lady briefly who sold them to me. I knew I was altered from the tea, just didn't know about ' tea drunk, ' so it was quite a pleasant surprise and experience. I was also cranky later in the afternoon!

This is what I like with Li's character in Fearless - blunt honesty. In the early portion of the movie, his arrogance makes him be critical and push the others down. But once he's learned wisdom, this allows him to share his mind with others and elevate them to new perspectives.

Is my favorite tea of all time! The first sip of every cup takes me back to the first time I tasted jasmine tea. I went many years without having Jasmine tea.After the shop in my area had closed down and I was left to only store bought garbage. It was not until about a year ago when I discovered path of cha which sells the best quality jasmine i've ever had!
