What is the name of the piece of music used for this dance? Thank you so much for the help!
@mexfolroa Жыл бұрын
The Mexican Folkloric Dance Company of Chicago has this dance in its repertoire. It is named "Jarabe de Rio Verde" (Dance of the Green River). Mexican dance and music were influenced by the Spanish Colonialism, French Intervention, England, iRIH, Scottish, and others. This video shows Irish and Mexican dancers performing together: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m2q9op2EZq96qqc SLIDE TO THE 2:50 MARK.

Thank you! Is it odd that one of the most exciting parts of this video is that EVERYONE IS WEARING GLOVES? All this business of men touching women's bare skin is just rubbish.

Lovely to see all those people dancing in shorts, skirts - some barefoot - or dresses. Are the most of you of Irish descent? Yours, Dutch Neal

"The Scottish" is one of our group's favorites, so it was no wonder that it served as the evening's encore dance. Be sure to subscribe for more dancing videos! The New Year's Ball was on Jan 2, 2015 in Belleville, IL and was called by Jeremy Suermann.
