I have collected and bought Filson for most of my adult life. I still wear jackets I bought when I was in my twenty! I have many products that where made in USA! I have even bought from your custom shop over the years! Now,,, the new stuff is JUNK and you know it! You are now taking advantage of your customers! You have sold us all out! Just like Levi! You now sell crap that doesn't last, doesn't fit correctly! You guys should be ashamed of what you have done to Filson, Period!

Baracuta has several product lines, some of which are still made in the UK. Mostly the "traditional" models in the "Baracuta cloth" are still made in the UK, like the G9 Harrington, the G9 Archive, G10 Baracuta Cloth, etc.

It’s a dang shame the manufacturing of Filson has been outsourced. I won’t pay “Made in America” prices for made overseas products, esp since quality has dropped. Bring manufacturing back to America for all your Tin cloth and wool products.
@teutates6196 ай бұрын
The 'US Heritage' and EU heritage have been f'ed up by capitalism's wish for maximised profit. This is exactly what is a shame in the current Filson philosophy and of many other manufacturers of any kind of good. The globalist idea of exploitation abroad for the sake of corporate gains is the result of weak politics. You can blame the politics for enabling the export of labour, but you can blame all companies for their financial greed by selling at the premium price nevertheless. I hope the tide will turn tho.

Way to over priced honestly tho filson is the best made clothing I've ever seen it's literally my favorite I'm looking at filson all year around but only buy something from them once or twice a year but it's the wool and the tin cloth that might be worth the money but then again it's really expensive tho

I live in Seattle, Washington USA and I am a Fan of Filson Products. Originated in Seattle in 1897 for the purpose to outfit the Miners, Loggers, and Prospectors to protect them from the harsh Artic environment of Alaska. Alaska is known as the 'Last Frontier' in the American History. Seattle was the last stop before Alaska and Filson has been the 'Original Alaska Outfitter' for the past 125 years. Filson Products are Lifetime guaranteed and have repair stations in their Flagship Stores. I hope to collect and invest in Limited/Special Edition Filson Products in the future. "Might as well have the Best!" Thank you for the Share!

There is the history and the present, the present is much less honest and beautiful than their promotional videos, their product is now made in Bangladesh or Sri Lanka etc... The prices are higher and higher, look for the error the materials travel three times around the earth before arriving on your ass Filson has taken the turn of always more and even more, in a few years, they will look like other brands, not responsible. sorry for the translation :)

It overpriced. These jackets will outlive you easily
@HabeasJ2 ай бұрын
@@thepatternforms859 went to my local clothing store yesterday and the filson cruisers are now "made in the usa of imported materials." The wool is not the same as it used to be. Its much lighter, much thinner, and feels like recycled wool instead of true virgin. They had "older" (year or two old) cruisers that were 100% made in the usa next to it that you could compare the new one to. Night and day difference. The quality has gone down the tubes with filson and the price is still astronomical

@@MythDealerthe new "Mackinaw" wool is coming from overseas and is thinner, ligher, and cheaper feeling than the original. Just saw one in person yesterday. The quality isn't there anymore
@lordllama22252 жыл бұрын
Filson now scours of the earth looking for oversea workshops to produce over price garbage. Company sold out plain and simple. If you want filson gear, stick to their mackinaw wool and rugged twill (nothing else is worth the cost) and find it on eBay for less than retail. 3 years ago the mackinaw cruiser was a $300 jacket, now it’s $500 for the same product. They don’t make their goods anymore and soon I’m sure they’ll completely move out of the US

Stop having your brand tarnished by moving production abroad, the quality is awful!

I've been looking for a Baracuta Harrington G9 based on a boyhood admiration of Steve McQueen, specifically the 'Mist' colour. So having looked into it, it seems to be yet another British brand sold off to Asset Managers who see profit potential in the brand that the original brand owners are ignoring for a number of reasons. I've seen the G9 made in, Romania, Indonesia, Italy, India (leather) and I am sure there are more iterations of the iconic jacket made in other parts of the world. So I have noted that, if you look at the some of the jackets, mainly on Ebay, the button side of the collar on some jackets is clean, on others you can see the button stitching coming through the collar. Not good, sloppy detail. Some iterations have the label on the left pocket. Baracuta, on the website, don't have this, so it's been dropped? The Peyton Place line although my preferred cut, looks like it was dropped? The logo on the back was a big mistake; just not British old boy. So basically the Asset Managers, even though they have experience in the industry have still fucked it it up with constant micro managing, adding confusion about provenance, trying to squeeze more profit out of a brand which really should have been left alone. 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it' seems to be the cliche that really fits here. Also curiously, I'm normally a 38-40 but in Baracuta land I'm a 42 which is perfect so not sure how they landed there?

Aren't these jackets made in Italy now? They're significantly more expensive in the UK than they were a couple of years ago... The G9 Modern Classic costs £279.99. An unjustifiable price to pay for alot of people now, considering there are quite a few decent brand alternatives of the Harrington jacket. I think Baracuta need to rethink their pricing, otherwise alot of potential customers will turn to other brands.
