Poor JKD form...also in the park or whatever that was..bad JKD footwork and too tense which will slow down response. Not impressed.. seems like a person that opened a JKD book and read power alignment then became an expert.😂. More like Bruce Lie....

Thanks for your comment :) Either way, Im not here to impress anyone. Im here to train for myself and to teach those who wish to learn. I should probably clarify that this is just a sneak peak from a training session where im explaining the technique. Not my actual performance! Regarding my credentials, you are more then welcome to do your research. All you need is the ability to go to our website and look me up. There is a quote I really like. To see is to be decieved, to hear is to be lied to, but to feel, is to believe. So, dont believe that what you see, is the reality of what is :) Which JKD school do you train in and who is your teacher btw that makes you think you know about the jkd form :) all the best and keep training /Rickard

Thanks for posting this video. I'm curious if I'm the only one who thought that on the hanging paper target that you hit it. That's one way that I used to practice the finger jabs... although the paper never lasted long and would often tear from the string.

Are you kidding me .. this guy is not even standing in a proper Bi Jong stance... I hate people passing themselves off as a "JKD Practitioner" when there not even doing the basics right... unsubscribed...

Yup, the Bai Jong name is the classical term, that we from the TW lineage stopped using about 20 yrs ago. But I guess there are a lot of things that still is used today that is considered classical even within the jkd schools :) The non classical TW JKD term is the Onguard or On Guard position. Anyone that still uses Bai Jong or Bi Jong whatever the spelling might be, well to me they are a more ofthe than not a part of the earlier stages of JKD and that is fine. Have no problem with that at all. But we do not use that terminology any more as explained above :).

Thank you for your comment :) I was teaching a student who needed my help and I am certified associate instructor under Sifu Albert Grajales and beginner instructor Sifu Stefan Nikander who are both certified full instructors directly from Sigung Ted Wong. I personally have been a JKD student since 1998 and became certified the first time in 2003 under sifu Stefan Nikander and in 2021 under Sifu Albert Grajales. What are your credentials? What lineage are you from? Im guessing you are from one of the schools from the earlies stages of JKD, hence using the terminology Bai Jong, which we stopped using about 20 yrs ago in the TW lineage :) Anyway, i was just curiuos which lineage you are from, because what is exacly a proper form? Well that depends a lot depending on from which JKD school the student are studying under. Because it is different due to which stages of the jkd development they are from :) But I guess you knew that if you are a jkd practioner that is. Have a nice day :)

when you do a backwards shuffle you need to move your back foot back with a step then do the shuffle or you can easily be countered.
@ScandinavianJeetKuneDoAlliance2 жыл бұрын
thank you for noticing, but that is not something im worried about. The main focus during this specific session was to focus on the push step/push shuffle and my lead punch hand before foot to mention a few things i was focusing on. I know that the shuffle steps are pretty laizy done. That is really not an issue since im not working on that part here. Im isolating the motions and when Im isolating certain parts of my training, i have no concern about other stuff like what im doing with my shuffle step backwards ( im just moving back with a laizy backwards shuffle / slidestep for the sake of the camera angle in the video, so that I didn´t go out of frame). But thank you anyway, I appreaciate the advice. What JKD school do you go to?

The takedown defense is a sprawl, which has been proven as a standard technique even in modern MMA. It's amazing how many of his techniques have held up and how in denial modern MMA fans are about how much he really did understand about fighting.
@TheLockon002 жыл бұрын
I mean... that's a pretty bad sprawl. Bruce was way ahead of his time, but we don't have to over inflate his grappling skills, which weren't non-existent, but were poor.
@anthonyurso93662 жыл бұрын
@@TheLockon00 wrong. He just simplified the techniques and practiced for street fighting. If a guy tries to armband me it would be effective to understand the basic techniques to defend, but for efficiency for real fighting you want to know how to defend arm bar and then immediately go for the eyes, pinch/claw, bite etc. that’s real fighting
@TheLockon002 жыл бұрын
@@anthonyurso9366 Bruce wouldn't have the "basic techniques to defend" submissions from your run of the mill modern day blue belt in jiu-jitsu. I'm not saying you need to spend 10 years doing BJJ just to defend yourself on the streets, but, again, let's not exaggerate Bruce's grappling skills.
@kaindrg2 жыл бұрын
@@TheLockon00 late to the Convo, but I feel like, the Bruce Lee was a product of his time, and we would have seen a greater incorporation of bjj, wrestling, had he lived longer. At the time of his death boxing was still king in mainstream American media. So most people you encountered would have more exposure to boxing, 60s karate which was more full contact. By the 90s most of his mainstream students have trained already had students that dabble in MMA and some would later train future MMA coaches we know of today like Greg Nelson and Erik Paulson. No reason to believe the Bruce's aesthetic wouldn't have changed. Much like any combat art each decade looks different from any other decade. Even bjj and wrestling look remarkably less developed to our eyes today around the time rule set and challenges change the respective arts. Videos from the early 1900 when catch wrestling was being changed into free style and collegiate wrestling, as we know it today, didn't have the level of takedown Technical sophistication that the system favors now in retrospect. the bjj of the early 1990s didn't have the flavor "we have an answer to any style" we know it for until rolls Gracie and the Machado's broke with tradition and sought more Olympic level wrestlers to really help them better understand the standup game since they stopped relying on Kosen judo as an example.

Using a pulley to stretch? That could be considered innovative, even now.
